Hi guys!

If you are hatching baby brine shrimp in a cold environment, a bit of a hack is to have your hatcheries hang inside a heated tank.

Here I have moved my baby brine shrimp hatcheries into the tank as the temp overnight in the fish garage has been hitting 18’c which is too cold for a consistent hatch.

You might think “what about the salt!” A little salt in a fresh water tank didn’t hurt anybody 😉

Some of you may not know this, but alongside everything else I do, I also build custom fish tanks to help support our local breeding and fishkeeping community.

The advantages of custom over store bought (or second hand) is space efficiency on a rack to be able to support the most amount of water in the small spaces we all have or built to a specific rack or stand size you already have.

Hi everyone, my name’s Lochlan and I’m from the Central Coast in New South Wales. I’ve been keeping fish for around 10 years now and it’s become a massive passion of mine.

Doing my weekly tank maintenance today - water changes, cleaning filters and making sure everything is healthy and running smoothly. My main focus at the moment is Pea Puffers and German Blue Rams. The puffers have so much personality and the rams are unreal when their colours come through properly.

Always keen to learn more and connect with other people in the hobby.
