Following on from Boyne Equine Health - Sinead McCann sold-out presentation with Sinead McCann earlier this month, we’re so excited to be welcoming Courtney from Embodied Horsemanship for our next Neigh Night.
More details are coming soon, but for now, we thought you’d enjoy hearing some of Courtney’s insights 🫶
Keep an eye out — this is going to be a beautiful one.
There are so many reasons why I love "training" at liberty, but the one I love the most right now is creating space for a "no".
Eskaada has been conditioned into compliance throughout her life. When she says no, it's a beautiful moment of her advocating for herself, and, in my opinion, it demonstrates to me that she feels safe enough, and loved unconditionally, therefore she doesn't need to perform and can simply communicate - communicate, and be heard and respected.
Her no helps guide the way I support her therapeutically. I know there is so much value in having equipment on our horses to help them find correct alignment and explore new ways of moving, but, when balanced with liberty, we can move forward with so much more information about how to better support our horses.
