Finally from the 12th January 2026 I will be able to offer a grooming service!!! I have eight years experience as a groomer as a major part of my previous positions as a veterinary nurse with both Yass and Crookwell vets. For anyone interested the pricing is as follows:

All include pick up and drop off from/to your home within the immediate Gunning and Dalton townships. If you reside more than 5km outside Dalton or Gunning then there will be additional travel charges.

Fully body clips - simple clip only (no breed specific clips). Price includes - full body clip (can leave ears, beard and/or tail if requested), scissor finish, nails, wash and dry:
Dogs up to 15kg $95
Dogs 15-30kg $115
Dogs 30kg+ $140

Puppies first clip (any size/weight - up to six months of age) $80

Wash dry and nails only:
Dogs up to 15kg $45
Dogs 15-30kg $55
Dogs 30kg+ $70

Cats hygiene clip (bum, belly and under chin) $55 includes nails

Cats full clip (leaving head, bottom part of leg/feet and tail) $95 includes nails

Cat wash $65

With this warm weather, the snakes are definitely out and about. When you get someone to look after your four legged family members make sure your carer knows what your wishes are regarding emergency vet care.
Our Christmas Eve entailed an emergency vet run to Crookwell Veterinary Hospital with a much loved client’s cat who has an unhealthy obsession with snakes. After a dose of antivenin, and a couple of days hospital care, she’s recovered well.

It’s hard to believe that Christmas is less than a month away! If you would like to book in with me for pet or farm sitting services please contact me ASAP as spots are filling up fast! I look after pet and farm animals on your own property. I can give medication or other medical treatment, if required, as I’m a qualified Vet Nurse. I have experience with all farm animals, particularly horses.

I caught a feral kitten twelve days ago. Screechy spitty proper feral. I’d say he’s making good progress. Meet Mr Bean.

Most feral kittens can be handled and make excellent loving pets. It requires patience, love, food, kind handling and time.

I’m the owner of Gunning and District Pet and Farm Services. I completed my Cert III in Animal Care and Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing at the CIT in Canberra and have nearly ten years of experience working in local mixed practices. In 1992 I started my own Arabian horse stud and have a lot of horse husbandry experience including Veterinary support.
