COMING SOON

In a few months time we will be adding a new service to the current services we offer. We’ll be adding “F***l Worm Egg Counts” for those that like to de-worm their Goats & Sheep based on the results of a F***l Worm Egg Count showing that your herd/goat/sheep do have worms and what type of worm, therefore being able to target the particular worm species in your herd by using the correct product needed to be effective in eradicating what worms are present, rather than de-worming on a schedule that often ends up in worms becoming resistant to de-wormers that are given routinely. Often when de-worming routinely the product being used may not be effective without knowing what particular worms you are dealing with.

Here’s a before and after trim of one of my own goats, Honey. I keep on top of the hoof trimming of my own goats hooves and like to trim their hooves well before they would be “due” which makes for an easier and quicker job. Honey had only the tiniest amount of hoof wall to trim off (about 1/2 a cm) as it had only been about 4-5 weeks since I last trimmed her so there really wasn’t much that I needed to trim off. Her hooves were mostly dirty with the usual debris that a goats hooves pick up when walking around. The results in the after photo show a nice level under hoof (hoof wall level with the sole) and the entire hoof being correctly shaped, angled and balanced how goats hooves should be to be able to move around comfortably and without putting any strain on their tendons and ligaments. A hoof that is not correctly angled and shaped puts strain on the tendons and ligaments of the lower legs due to how the goat has to adjust the way it walks when their hooves are incorrectly shaped, angled and balanced.

Evening my fellow Goat and Sheep lovers. Here’s a few before photos of the hooves I had to work with today. Severely overgrown, been well over 1 year since last trimmed. They are so overgrown that the correct shape and angle of a healthy goats hoof is thrown right out of whack. Today was all about trimming off all of the overgrown hoof wall so she’s already walking better however it’s going to take several more trim jobs done about 2-4 weeks apart to begin corrective trimming to bring the hooves back to a healthy goat hoof in general and to bring the shape and angle back to where it should be. Ideally a Goats hooves should be trimmed every 6-8 weeks before they become too overgrown as this is usually what causes hoof infexrions. I usually forget to take before and after photos, however I did remember to take before photos today and then completely forgot to take after photos. If your goat is due for a routine trim, has very overgrown hooves, is lame/limping, spending most of its time kneeling on his/her knees or has any hoof infections like Hoof Rot, Hoof Scald or Thrush send me a message and I can book you in and come out to you and I’ll have your Goat and/or Sheep feeling fantastic on their feet after their Spa Day Pedicure (trim).

Today’s adorable 2 little Nigerian Dwarf goat clients we met when out at their home to do a hoof trim and vaccinate both of them. The smallest one is only 10 weeks old and has the cutest tiny little head. They are such friendly little sweethearts. It’s weird when I’m out trimming little goat breeds like Nigerian Dwarfs and mini breeds. They look and are so so tiny in comparison to our Maggie and Honey who are HUGE, heavy chunky girls.
