☕️🐾 Coffee date with Bel the Beagle today at Waterford Plaza!

It was busy, noisy and there was a LOT happening around her — but our clever little girl did so well ❤️

You’ll see in the sit video that I’m marking Bel with a “yes” and then rewarding her with food. That’s because every time she notices something around her and then chooses to check back in with me, she’s making a really good decision — and I want her to know that.

That check-in behaviour is exactly what we’re building. We want Bel to learn that she doesn’t need to react to every sight, sound or distraction around her — she can notice it… and then choose her person 🥹🐶

Right now we’re using food rewards while she’s learning and practising this skill. Food helps make those good choices clear and worth repeating. As she becomes more confident and this behaviour becomes second nature, we’ll gradually phase the food out so checking in simply becomes her normal response

Honestly… isn’t she just the best girl? 🐾✨

🚨🚨 URGENT FOSTER CALL – 21 GERMAN SHEPHERDS NEED YOU 🚨🚨

TWENTY ONE. Yes, you read that right… 21 PUREBRED GERMAN SHEPHERDS are depending on us — and we cannot save them without you.

These beautiful dogs have been seized due to an excessive number of animals and are now sitting in a cold, unfamiliar pound. Many of them have had very limited exposure to the outside world and are understandably terrified.

💔 They don’t understand what’s happening.💔 They don’t deserve this. 💔 And right now, they have nowhere to go.

🐾 WHY THIS IS URGENT
We are a foster-based rescue, which means: 👉 No foster homes = no dogs saved.

We are committing to a 12+ hour trip (one way) to bring these dogs to safety — but we must have foster homes secured first.

🗓 Foster carers MUST be available to collect:
📍 Pickup: Saturday 13th June🕕 Time: 6pm–9pm (need to be available during this whole timeframe)📍 Location: Logan (SE QLD)

🐶 ABOUT THE DOGS
* Ages range approx. 1–4 years
* Purebred German Shepherds
* Likely fearful, under-socialised
* Will need patient, experienced handlers

✅ FOSTER REQUIREMENTS
To keep everyone safe, we are only able to place these dogs in homes that meet the following:
✔️ Secure yard with 5ft fencing
✔️ Experience with German Shepherds (or similar breeds)
✔️ No children (these dogs have never been around them)
✔️ No cats (or ability to fully separate)
✔️ Can live with medium/large, well-balanced dogs OR be an only dog

🐾☕ Sip Tea. Meet Dogs. Change Lives. ☕🐾

Looking for a new best friend?

Whether you're searching for a deaf dog, a special needs dog, or simply a wonderful rescue dog to share your life with, this is an event you won't want to miss.

Join us for the Hear No Evil High Tea Adoption Day, where Hear No Evil and other rescue organisations will come together to showcase dogs looking for their forever homes.

This isn't your typical adoption event. Instead of walking through kennels or scrolling through photos online, you'll have the opportunity to meet the dogs in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Sit down with a cup of tea, enjoy a scone, and spend time getting to know the dogs and the people who know them best.

You might just make the connection that changes a life, theirs and yours.

🐾 Meet adoptable dogs from multiple rescue organisations
☕ Enjoy tea, coffee and delicious high tea treats
💛 Learn about adoption, fostering and volunteering
🎟️ Mega raffle with fantastic prizes
📸 Photo opportunities throughout the day

📅 Saturday 4th July 2026
⏰ 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM
📍 Building Better Dogs

Dogs really are incredible. 🐾

For those who follow our page and Hear No Evil, Australian Deaf Dog Rescue., you’ll already know Sherlock Bones. This deaf boy came to us for some help to become the very best version of himself. Not only has he worked incredibly hard to get there, but while he’s been waiting for someone to foster or adopt him, he’s also become an important part of our team.

Sherlock has such a kind, gentle nature, and he’s now helping other rescue dogs learn and grow as well.

Yesterday he spent time with sweet Bandit from Shepherd's Lantern Rescue, helping him learn not only how to relax around other dogs, but how to actually enjoy their company.

Bandit hasn’t had many life skills in his past, and because of that he’s been reactive to a lot of different things, including other dogs. Seeing him start to feel safe and comfortable enough to enjoy another dog’s presence is a huge step forward.

Moments like this open up so many more opportunities for Bandit when it comes to finding the right home.

We’ve been doing this work for many years, but dogs still find ways to humble us with just how remarkable they are. ❤️

If you’re interested in fostering or adopting either of these beautiful boys, please contact their rescues: Hear No Evil Deaf Dog Rescue. Shepherd’s Lantern Inc.

This Is What Happens When You Don’t Give Up on a Dog. 💙

Remember Bluey?
The dog who was vilified on socials. The one people were so quick to judge.

Look at him now.

Look at the softness in his face.
Look at how relaxed he is.
Look at the trust.

It’s been a long road for this boy. A road filled with lessons, consistency, patience, and people who refused to quit on him.

His incredible rescue never stopped believing in him — not for a second.

Bluey has done the hard slog.
He has leaned in.
He has grown.
He has become the very best version of himself.

And soon… he’ll be ready for the next chapter — a family of his own.

Sometimes the dog isn’t the problem.
Sometimes they just need someone who won’t give up. 💫

✨ Brave dogs doing brave things ✨

Some of the incredible dogs in our care have been busy learning how to be confident, capable legends in real-world situations. None of this comes easy — every single one of them has worked hard to build the skills they have today.

🏙 Georgi Girl & Kobe took on all the things — navigating the shops, people, stairs and the lift. They handled it beautifully, and loved the lift so much they couldn’t wait to jump back in for a second round.

🌿 Bluey has made huge gains too. He enjoyed a short trip to the small park and has absolutely nailed going up and down the car ramp like a champion. It might seem small, but for Bluey this is a massive milestone.

🐕‍🦺 Sherlock Bones & Kahlua (besties 🖤) were right in their element, loving being out and about and soaking up the world together.

These moments may look simple, but for dogs who once found the world overwhelming, they’re truly life-changing.

And honestly…
I bloody love this job 💙🐶

Edit to add…all these gorgeous dogs are looking for homes. Names and rescues on photos.

Introducing Bluey. 💙

Grab a cuppa. Sit down. Because this story matters.

You’ve probably seen Bluey doing the rounds on social media.

He’s “that” dog.

The one shown in photos in a shabby enclosure with faeces.
The one described as “stuck like that 24/7 for years.”
The one labelled “not socialised for years.”
The one called a “selfless mammoth challenge.”
The one people said you MUST have experience with fear-reactive dogs to even consider.
The one they said could never be around other dogs.
The one they said came from a “terrible abusive situation.”
The one they said was a Ridgeback x Wolfhound.
The one that not a single person seemed to have a kind word to say about.

Honestly, based on what was circulating about him, it’s no surprise nobody wanted him.
No rescue wanted to touch him either.

He had been completely stigmatised. Branded as “too hard”. Written off.

💔

Now let me tell you the truth about Bluey.

Bluey is a gorgeous, gentle boy.

He lived with a family who loved him very much.
At Christmas, he was running around the yard with their 14 grandchildren.
He was not abused.

Yes, he lived in his yard. Yes, he sometimes went into an enclosure.
But let’s be honest — thousands of dogs in Australia live in yards, go into pens, crates and runs.

That does not mean they are unloved.
That does not mean their life is empty.
That does not mean they are abused.

They couldn’t even leave his breed alone.

He is not a Wolfhound mix.
Bluey is a Cane Corso.

We had been watching Bluey on social media for a while and something about him just… didn’t sit right. The story didn’t add up.

So we went and met him.
We assessed him.

And what we found was not a “dangerous” dog. Not a “lost cause”.

We found a shy boy.
A dog who is unsure of strangers.
A dog who simply hasn’t had to navigate much of the world outside his yard and needs help building confidence.

That’s it. That’s the crime.

All Bluey needed was one rescue to take a chance on him.

And the incredible team at Lucky Paws Rescue said yes. 🙏

Bluey is now on site with us at our facility.

And like any dog, going into a training environment its hard at first. Everything is new. Everything is strange. Everything is overwhelming.

But now… Bluey has settled. He’s habituated. He’s starting to feel safe.

And now, the real work begins. 💙

He’s already bonded with two of our trainers.

Watching him get the zoomies for the first time nearly broke our hearts in the best way.
Watching him chase a ball.
Watching him run back to his handler with a big goofy smile for pats.

This is not a “broken” dog.

This is a good dog who was buried under a mountain of labels, judgement and social media hysteria.

We will help Bluey become the very best version of himself.
We will teach him that life outside his yard is safe.
That the world is kind.
That people are kind.
That he doesn’t have to be afraid.

And one day, someone is going to get a truly beautiful dog…
Because someone finally chose to see who he really is. 💙
