ented innovations and unique design features really work to make backyard chicken keeping easier. We know how important good coop management is. A clean, dry coop, and uncontaminated feed and water, are essential for poultry health. Our Feeders reduce waste, keeping feed dry and off the floor. And our Waterers keep water clean and prevent spillage. Dine a Chook Feeders and Drinkers are made in Australia, supporting Aussie jobs. And we use genuine Lubing Drinker Outlets from Germany because they are the best for poultry. Dine a Chook Feeders and Drinkers are built to last and come with an exclusive guarantee. Tested in the harsh Australian climate, don’t run over them with a tractor and we bet you won’t need to buy another Feeder or Drinker again! Feeding chickens too many unhealthy scraps is one of the biggest health hazards out there! You might save $ on feed, but health issues and poor egg production will easily absorb any savings.

Stick to a complete chicken feed. Scraps should be no more than 10 % of the diet, and not every day. Stick with fruit and veg, and whole grains. Avoid foods high in fat, sugar, salt and white flour!

Go ahead, grow fodder! 🌱 It's great for chickens! πŸ” Just don't expect it to make a difference to your feed bill.

Fodder provides micronutrients and some forage can be a good source of protein too, e.g. moringa or pigeon pea.

But even high-protein fodder is mostly fibre. It is not a replacement for a complete layer feed and isn't likely to reduce feed consumption.
