YUM!
Look what my darling husband picked for me for my birthday breakfast this morning. They taste as good as they look, way better than anything you will buy in the shops. We still have heaps of plants for sale and while they are still here, poor me, I'll just have to eat them before the birds do.
Two varieties available including the famed and rare Cambridge Rival. Price only $5 each or super special 10 for $40. Comes with detailed instruction sheet on how to get yours to grow like this- it's not that hard!Pick up Elizabeth East(preferred) or Brompton. You can order at [email protected] or via the page. The next few weeks are peak time and the pots are full of great roots so they need to be planted in the ground or re-potted ASAP. If we have to do this, the price will have to go up to $7 each so get in quick!

PLEASE DONATE!
I hope you have also been following the astonishing success of this group over the last 18 months. To continue to grow they need better software and I cannot think of a better cause to donate to. Even better, donations are tax deductible as they are a registered charity. Their activities do not generate an income so please help them advance their good work to the next level. Thanks Rosanne

🍅 31,000kg rescued. 230 volunteers. 80 food relief partners. 280+ harvests.

Our first 18 months have been incredible—but we've hit a ceiling.

Right now, we're coordinating everything manually. It works, but we're missing opportunities to rescue more food because our systems can't keep up.

We're raising $5,000 for software that will help us:

âś… Manage harvests more efficiently
âś… Notify only nearby volunteers (our area covers all of metro Adelaide!)
âś… Get more fresh produce to people who need it

This year, when growers couldn't sell tomatoes interstate, we rescued 6,700kg that went to families in need. Imagine what we could do with better systems.

Every donation over $2 is tax-deductible.

SPECIAL OFFER
We were asked for a Sunday workshop for people who had work and sport commitments, and I guess now at football final time it isn't the best timing but grafting time is limited, We are disappointed by the slow response but to keep faith with the people who have booked, we are going ahead anyway. We had a few people Pay-It-Forward the last workshops, so that money is being put toward offering a super cheap ticket at $15 if you are really keen to do this but are financially stressed at the moment. This price is also available for anyone who has done the previous grafting workshops. The great thing about a small group is that you will get more individual attention from your Master Grafter teacher Andrew and be more confident when you leave. Free tour of Andrew's Urban Farm afterwards, weather permitting.

ADVANCED GRAFTING WORKSHOP
Only a couple of days to go and we still have a few places left in this special workshop. If you cannot make up your mind, here’s some sweeteners!
• We now have a professional chef living among us who has kindly offered to do lunch for you. While Joe and Andrew are great cooks, Sno takes things to the next level and we are hoping to serve home made delicious soup and pizza from the big wood oven in the garden.
• Individual help from Andrew and Joe: Andrew has been teaching grafting since about 1990 and there’s no one better.
• If you have your own grafting knife, please bring it. If not, we have knives for sale including left-handed knives.
• If the weather is unpleasant, the whole workshop can be held in out air conditioned function room. If it is fine enough, there will be an optional tour of Andrew’s Urban Farm after the workshop.
• Fruit trees for sale on the deck at very reasonable prices, especially a big range of figs.
• It is not necessary that you have done the beginner’s workshop previously as those without prior experience will be catered for.
• Rootstocks and scions woods for sale so you can try to make your own ”fruit salad tree” (pictured)
• Opportunity to get all your questions answered – on fruit growing in general and grafting in particular
• Opportunity to socialise with like minded people. While the workshop starts at 10.30 am, we ask that you arrive from 10 am to give us time to introduce, grab a coffee etc and start at 10.30 sharp.
• Four level pricing structure so everyone can afford it.
For tickets with full details of time and place, please go to the first comment. Hope to see you there!
