🐍 “What can I use to repel snakes from my yard?”
I get asked this absolutely all the time.
The honest truth? There is no magic product that reliably repels snakes. In the industry, we don’t think those solar-powered vibrating stakes work at all. ❌
Too often, people try to manage the problem in reverse. 🔄
👉 Don’t try to add something to chase snakes away. Instead, remove the things that are inviting them in!
Stop putting off the yard work and hoping a quick-fix bottle of repellent will save you once a snake has already moved in. True snake safety is about prevention, not reaction.
Here is your checklist to make your property less attractive to snakes before they arrive:
✅ Clean up the yard: Clear away rubbish, old timber piles, and ground clutter.
✅ Eliminate hiding spots: Reduce sheets of tin, tarps, or overgrown areas providing shelter.
✅ Target food sources: Manage mice and rats around chicken coops, aviaries, or feed bins. 🐁🐀
✅ Keep it short: Maintain lawns and vegetation around the house and walkways.
You can never 100% snake-proof a property, but you can absolutely make it a place they don’t want to hang out. Prevention starts with maintenance, not a gimmick.
