We have Tonka for another 2 weeks then he’s going back home 🥲
He’s the sort of pony that grows on you a little more each day.. ⭐️
You know, the ones with big personalities that are just easy and beneficial to have about?

Did I mention how much I appreciate my farrier?

Quick “emergency” call out today for one of the geldings here! ⭐️🙈
I don’t believe farriers get enough dedication. Even in a busy schedule, the good ones (especially ours!!) find some sort of space slot to fit us in!! I’ve had the same farrier for the past 9-10 years. To the point, I see him more than some of my family members sometimes 🤣 he has literally just become extended Family now. Watched myself grow up, watched myself progress, heard all my drama and dealt with it all and offered some of the best life advice !

Since meeting our farrier, he’s taught me the importance of having healthy up to date feet, you lose a hoof you lose your horse.

So very grateful for our farrier. I believe everyone should be appreciative of their farriers, they work hard and don’t get the credit they’re deserved sometimes! And be honest, our horses suck sometimes 🤣
Our farriers never complain. 🤷🏼‍♀️🙈
Thanks Kev!

Little bit of an EOI on our Beautiful Willow. Unfortunately like most, circumstances have changed a tad. Drought is having a big impact on that! Time restraints due to transport runs being more regular and a few days at a time as well as myself and Trent have a Bub on the way! 🩷🩵 we are needing to reduce our personal numbers to focus on other importances. With lack of feed and time being consumed it’s in willow’s best interest to find a home who has that excess 3-4 days consistency they can throw into her, which at the current minute I am unable to offer!
This will be an extremely brutally honest ad, we’ve had this mare a little while now and done limited work but rewarding work with her. So please read thoroughly - a home for her is my main priority. She’s been through enough already!

Price to rule out doggers or dealers to flip a bigger buck on a decent looking mare. We all know how it goes - this mare is Not suitable for beginners or newbies of any sort at all. And definitely do not want her around kids. Not that she’s nasty, just she’s big and unsure.

Willow 15.2 hand chunky Percheron Mix / Heavy breed.
Teeth are up to date - 13 years old (can provide info of this)
Front feet up to date but she has issues with her back - hence they are Not up to date. She needs a lot of reassuring with her back feet as she does move side to side or pick up and kick out. Our farrier is amazing, and I do not need him out of work so I won’t put him through that. She needs work, time and patience.

Isn’t overly difficult to catch, but you are unable to approach her front on. You have to approach to her shoulder, then pet her from shoulder up her neck then on to her face. She is VERY shy around the mouth, ok around ears/eyes/cheek. We had her teeth done to rule out any Issues in her mouth - they were horrible. She has since relaxed more BUT still will throw her head up and away/snort if you touch her mouth suddenly. Gentle approach she will accept.

Once you have her caught you can do next to anything with her, she will stand tied all day, she will happily be tacked up, she is good to lunge, she will take an exercise ball being thrown at her everywhere, a whip being cracked next to her, pool noodles on her. She is great in that aspect.

I was told broken to cart and saddle but very out of work, however I cannot prove this so I am offering her as ‘UNBROKEN’. However I HAVE ridden her before at a walk, in the round yard only. She had no reactions what so ever and couldn’t care less. This was ONE RIDE for 10-15minutes. Takes a bit fine, turns fine, happy to have leg on, does chew and pull with the bit hence making me think she is unbroken/never mouthed.

Excellent nanny or make a beautiful broodmare for a TB Stud.

Will walk on a float (Angle) but she SHAKES once on. She doesn’t scramble, just shakes. She does self load herself on and walks herself off, we don’t get in her way.

I’ve taken her off property once, that was to the vets for her teeth and Vaccines - she was unsure of most things around her and quite spooky/pushy. Was an extremely windy crappy day, but regardless wasn’t great.

This mare comes with a lot of unsure-ness and requires an extremely experienced, knowledgable home and will not be offered to anything else.

Priced $3000.00 extremely negotiable to an excellent, providing experienced home.
She is in AWESOME condition. A big thick set mare.

12/11/2023

More of a run down on what I and my team can offer you for your horse/s.

No, we won’t make your horse show material in under 6weeks.
No, we won’t have a perfectly educated horse in under 6weeks.
No, we won’t fix a bad habit in under 6weeks.
No, your horse won’t be perfect in under 6weeks.

“What do we do? We pretty much test their buttons, put our life’s at risk and film it so you don’t have to. 🤣 “

Quite truthfully, a horse is not made in under 12months.. or longer!
They aren’t a machine or a toy, you can’t buy materialistic items/products to ‘fix’ them forever.
Sure, that harsher bit worked for your ride today and your horse held itself in a frame and stopped fighting you, but give it 2-3months and your horse will go back to resisting, fighting and now an overall worse ride which is HARDER to fix and takes longer!

A horse is an athlete, it’s a competitive beast. They are big, athletic, strong and powerful. They are MADE TO WORK.. I’m telling you now, if I’ve had yonks off I sure as hell will find the easy way about things or ways to make it hard for myself and everyone around me lol.
Until I’m in a good routine, feeling good, eating well and what not. I definitely am not going to perform well for myself or anyone.

A horse is very much the same, to have a decent ridden mount you have to be willing to take the good with the bad.. and I’m talking learning to accept bombproof George is going to buck every so often, or aged Nelly might kick out at you because you p*ssed her off by pulling her tail too tight whilst plaiting.

You have to realise these animals don’t communicate like we do.. when was the last time you asked if your horse had a headache and needed to lie down and to take the day off? You didn’t, because you can’t. I mean, I suffer migraines and I can tell you now I am doing sweet F all if I have one, lol. I’ll roll everything over to tomorrow.

I am not saying accept every bad behaviour as pain or discomfort sometimes they’re pricks. But do rule out as to why that horse is doing something either in spurts, at a certain time, with certain gear, with a certain rider etc. Just be open minded when working with these animals.

So no, don’t send me your horse/s and expect them to be something they aren’t physically or mentally capable of. As I said I can help expose them and start them on a good path, but at the end of the day it really is up to you as a rider to bond and complete the rest of your own horse on your own at your own pace.
No trainer or breaker can ‘fix’ your horse. They don’t need fixing, you need training.

⭐️here’s Dude showing he has sass and class 🤷🏼‍♀️💙

Tonka! 💙🩵
13hh 7yo paint pony
Helping advertise on behalf of client, currently in full time work/training with us - here for another 2weeks then going back home to continued to be sold. But welcome to view/trial here whilst he is here!!

⭐️ Not suited to inexperienced RIDERS, As quiet as anything for a child/beginners to handle BUT he is forward and strong under saddle therefore suit older child wanting a sporting pony or a jump off pony. OR adult rider wanting small competitive pony.

⭐️ Has been used as a lead line for kids with prev home - and is an excellent lead line. Just forward and quick stepping off lead.

⭐️ Absolutely no spook, bite, kick, rear, bolt. But can be ‘hoppy’ out of work. (He is truly a typical young pony).

⭐️ Lilly (14) absolutely LOVES this pony - she is a YOUNG HOONY rider and he suits that so well. He does work in a nice frame when asked and pushed for it so he may suit pony dressage.
With a trot like his, he’d make a good little mini trotter too!!

⭐️ this pony LOVES to jump. And will look for his jumps and chase them. No refusal at all! He’s keen… so if you have a rough little show jumping kid, this is your pony…

⭐️ Excellent to catch, good to float, good with feet, no kick we lay on his bum to play our phones lol. Stands tied all day - will fall asleep. Not matey, excellent with fencing, excellent doer, good strong feet.

$7500.00 NEG to EXCELLENT home. (Owner is fairly flexible with his pricing)
Currently at Dubbo NSW but will be heading back home in 2weeks to Cumnock NSW.

All we have left!
No clients horses, no projects just our own personal horses… it’s quiet 🥲

Everyone is happy, dirty, chunky and content! ❤️
Due for working next week, farrier in a few weeks, ordered new rugs because we ruined ours again lol. And more veils because we also lost them.. again…!! 🤣
I now have spare time to bring Willow into some work, she’s kind of just been left to be a horse.. and it’s done her wonders. Not tucked up and stressed anymore. It’ll all be ground work and just saddles on/off, desensitising - everything we do with the boys to get her prepared for when either we send her to a breaker whilst I’m still baking a future horse rider OR wait until I am back in the saddle and finish her off ourselves. 🤰🏼🙈

Happy birthday to my Wild child ! 💙🩵
My baby Echo growing like absolute crazy!
He was one year old yesterday 🙈 it was pouring rain and I was NOT going to try and do a bday for him in the rain lol.

How far he has come is insane! I am so grateful to own such a cool dude. Even though I usually get back end shots of him farting in my face whilst bolting away 🫠🤣

This little dude (well, the whole 15hands of him !!!) is going to absolutely wicked when under saddle and out taking me around and competing!! 💙

Hopefully he’ll make a nice mount for Trent too 🤣 he’s definitely tested us in the early days, but he’s just bloody perfect now!
Never knew I would end up with a baby that’s quieter than some big horses I’ve had!!

Does go to show age is just a number

Tommy being an XC machine at Avenel horse trials this weekend in the 1* 🤩.

He was 26th out of 27 after dressage (not last which is a win 😂)! He then jumped the most fantastic double clear to finish on his dressage score and move up the 12th.
He might be 19 and the smallest horse in the class but he just made it look and feel so easy (and had the BEST time doing it!) 🥰❤️

We are hobble training! I already know a lot of people will disagree and that’s ok. This is something I don’t ever use nor plan to on a day to day. Why are you hobbling then?
Well, I want to expose these babies to absolutely anything and everything as I know if I EVER had to part with them or if I ever needed to put them in a situation where they needed to know this skill, well… they do!

Just an extra thing to tick off the box, to say - yep, they won’t lose their crap with hobbles. Because I have had horses absolutely whinge and carry on when they are trialled to hobbles. To me, it’s a safety thing knowing my boys are capable of accepting new and awkward things without carrying on.

We make it comfortable and just easy for them plus I am here watching the entire time. They get a half a biscuit of hay to eat, once they are finished the hobbles come off! So it’s a very pleasant - easy experience. 😀

To maintain your balance ...

Imagine that your upper body is like a broomstick and your horse is a hand trying to balance it. If your body (the broomstick) starts to tip, your hand (horse) will automatically move underneath to keep it up. You cannot lean right and expect your horse to go left.—Laura Tomlinson

Tomlinson (née Bechtolsheimer) represented Great Britain with great success aboard Mistral Højris. The pair earned several medals, including team gold and individual silver at the 2012 Olympic Games as well as silver in the team, special and freestyle at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

Did you know, horse riding is somewhat a ‘Trade’ ?
Now, hear me out.
When someone decides to persue in a trade they’re willing and ready to spend thousands to learn that trade. You know, tools, books for TAFE/study and sometimes schooling expenses. It gets pricy! So why are horses any different?

You know, when you’re starting out in horses you’re a beginner - therefore need a schoolmaster/beginners mount. They are EXPENSIVE… you’re looking at LEAST $5-10k minimum, And anywhere above…! They are AGED, they are knowledgable, experienced, quiet, brave.
Just know you are PAYING YOUR FIRST ‘TRADE’ EXPENSE in this sport/hobby. (Whatever you classify it as).
So, no that schoolmaster or beginners horse is not expensive, it’s actually cheap for the years it has behind it and the hands that have guided it. That’s your expense of learning, you pay the expense, you learn, you learn enough to then be able to buy CHEAPER, GREEN horses later on once you develop through your ‘trade’/gain your knowledge and experience - potentially slowly earn some dollars back if you decide to sell or work horses for clients.
So really, an expensive aged school master is going to teach you the ropes with confidence and safety, like any trade would when you start out as a first year/apprentice.

Appreciate those aged schoolmasters, regardless of expense. The expense is you investing in your trade.. not paying a large, silly amount for an animal. You’re investing in you.

Have an awesome weekend 😊 xx

Oh wow! Another thing to be cautious of..!

EDIT - this post has created alot of interest and alot of well-meaning people and keyboard warriors are suggesting ideas and sharing their own opinions of what happened which is upsetting to those who are directly involved so I've been asked to clarify a few things-

Float was serviced twice in 12 months ✔️
Ball and hitch are the correct size ✔️
Chains crossed and correct length ✔️
Towing capacity correct ✔️
Tyres on float and car correct ✔️
Hitch was latched and pinned and came off intact with pin still closed.
Professionals checked and confirmed the 7yo ball had become "fretted " which is why this incident has occurred.

I have shared this purely to help the horse community ( or anyone towing) stay safe on the roads. Judgemental comments are unnecessary- please be kind 🙏 Sorry to the people involved 😢

*Check your balls !
Something to think about for anyone towing- maybe it's common knowledge for some( and I must admit I've wondered about the wear and tear of tow balls but never looked into it - but i will now !)

Recently I heard a story of a lovely newer , good quality extended float being towed by a high quality 4WD and terrifyingly the float came loose from the vehicle- horse on board- on a hill - TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE FOR ALL CONCERNED!
Everything was checked , fixed , horse and driver ok. Float was back on road for a few trips until terrifyingly- the same thing happened again !

Float and car promptly got sent off to find answers as to why this keeps happening- turns out the tow ball had worn down so it didn't sit snug and caused the float to pop off. I'm quite sure most people will say they knew to change the tow ball ( I googled- every 3 to 5 years apparently! )

But maybe you didn't know. Maybe this post might save you and your horse!

* this isn't my tow ball - it's a random one I saw on the street hahaha

Oh my goodness! What a day it has been..
A day full of injuries and vets! With multiple horses 🫠

I am so grateful to have an amazing vet locally that I can leg it to down the road. Makes my life a little less stressful! So thank you Ross Pedrana for being so efficient with our equine friends despite your high demand of injuries, snake bites and other illnesses of late!

Unfortunately horses are stupid - I’m not going to lie, your precious George in the paddock that is fancy bred and you paid top dollar for, is still somewhat stupid. Regardless of breed, gender, age, skill set, fencing, experience, knowledge, colour, height, surroundings and whatever, your horse is still stupid. 🤣
Horses baffle me, and it sucks when they do a number on themselves and severly hurt themselves, especially when they’re not yours! We try to keep calm and not stress, but we’re human and they are our pride and joys - it’s our hobby and life style so it’s hard not to. I guess just taking every precaution and correct step is all you can do! Getting advice from the experts, having wounds catered to correctly and keeping up the ongoing upkeep for the short time needed to fix the wound!

Anyways, when clients/friends horses hurt or injure themselves I try not to over react and keep my cool so we all aren’t stressing, I pester our vet and keep communication up to fill in all the gaps. As we all know sometimes things can be taken out of hand or people like to fill in the blanks with rumours (we’ve all seen it or potentially done it, don’t lie). So Being straight forward, honest and doing right by the animal (seeking medical assistance, not sitting around pondering regardless of how urgent it is or not). Is all I can offer sometimes!

So, I highly reccomend having a good rep with your vet and being a complete, brutally honest person in this industry - because horses are stupid 🤷🏼‍♀️
I still love my horses and every horse that’s come through. However I will be grey by the time I am 30… 😆

I’m the equine world we all need to be extremely honest with one another. Horses are a dangerous animal, they are a flight animal and are herd bound. If things go wrong, honesty is your best outcome good or bad, wrong or right. At the end of the day, you have not only your own life in your hands but that animals and those around you. 😊

Just playing around with Hank today! This horse just does what’s asked ❤️ I like them like this. Makes my life fun and easy - Lilly’s too!! We love having fun with these sorts of horses, we learn a lot - the schoolmasters are really fun 🙈⭐️
