These four are searching for their forever homes!

Prices reflect market - not quality!
They have had minimum work/are green. Wont suit beginner homes. - however Wendell may suit a confident beginner rider for round yard riding/small arena riding under experienced supervision.
Teecee would also suit beginner rider in round yard/arena work under supervision.

Wendell - 16yo 15.2hh ottb gelding, been ridden by a 13yo competent rider. Pretty straight forward, walk, trot, canter. Jumps some poles. He’s pretty plain in both colour, traits and experience! Best suited to low level home for fun use. $500.00 as is not in work, but can pull out of the paddock jump on and go.

‘Doug’ - 3yo 15.3hh and will grow a bit taller ottb gelding. Believe he started but never raced.. very very sweet but very much a baby, wonky, unbalanced etc. super quiet, not much phases him! These ones make good projects. And he’s not ugly either! He does have a MASSIVE head on him tho. lol.
$500.00 as is - no signs of buck/bolt etc but absolutely no steering in that canter - best suited to lots of round yard work for a little bit, poles etc!

Tells tails - 15.2hh 7yo quite nice, a good ride. Three even paces, quiet, not much phases her, get on and go. Awesome mount for a juniors project/future prospect they’d like to put plenty of hard yards into.
Had a handful of rides off track - was a stable favourite. We just find a very special home I was told from her trainers!
She does windsuck - only fault.
$1000.00 as is

TeeCee - 14.3hh 13yo ottb gelding
Been there, done that. More forward moving out and about than at home but not stupid. Was at a riding school for a 10yo rider a few years back, been ridden by kids and elderly riders. He’s quiet, but he’s more second/third ‘pony/horse’ quiet.
No buck, bolt, bite, rear, kick etc. good height, pretty cruisy, fun ride for younger riders, loves jumping.

This !!! Oh my golly gosh, cannot express enough that any horse will play up regardless - it’s up to you as a rider to learn your horse and work with it.

“Oh that’s a bad horse it carries on” yet that kid over there can do whatever whenever on it any other day.

This is Louie at his finest. Maybe saddle pinch maybe a little sore maybe just trying to get my son to back off. Whatever the reason it doesn’t phase my son too much.
However, if a pony he’s riding does this same thing, it’ll scare him.
You see he’s rode Louie a long time and knows his quirks. So he can push through them. The ponies are new and no one knows quirks and what to watch out for and what to ignore.
Most people who have rode a horse for any length of time, regardless of what they do with them, are like he and Louie.
It’s a bit nerve wracking when we climb aboard a new horse or c**t.

You must spend time getting to know the horse and what their dislikes and likes are. Start with groundwork and move up.
Every horse has its quirks just like every person. To make a good relationship you must figure out their personalities, and what is normal behavior and what isn’t. You can try to eliminate the quirks, and sometimes you can,. But more times than not you just have to deal with certain things.

A good example is a new car. When you first get it you’re just feeling it out. Listening to the noises, feeling the steering wheel, how accessible the radio is(😳😂), the acceleration and braking, and so on. After awhile you know what are normal feels and sounds and you don’t get to worried. But as soon as there is a new sound you immediately pick up on it…….welcome to buying a new or horse or climbing on a c**t…….

Echo is very sick of ‘big brother’ duties… 🤣🤣 she doesn’t leave his side! So they’re contained to a smaller paddock together at the moment. 💞
We’ve been pretty quiet, the weather has still be super how you going… Trent and I are away for the next few days so Hope will be running the Joint whilst we’re off doing family things 🐴🤠
The horses we have available at the minute are extremely cheap and have had minimal work - they’re all comfortably letting down/having time off, quite out of work. We just don’t have the best riding grounds for the wet weather, we always get quiet/slow during winter seasons - hence foal handling 🤪🤪 probably my favourite time 💞
Anyways - I do hope to have some different
sorts up and coming next year. Some with colour, some different breeds to suit those that defiantly are not set on an ottb. We still will have our awesome ottb’s! I couldn’t ever not have any ❤️
Oh ! And we have taken our float off road for a few months - to have some repairs and upgrades so we will be unable to do any transport until at least end of August - we do apologise! 😊
Not a tonne going on but still a tonne going on? 🤣 I feel guilty for having such a long ‘break’ but adapting to motherhood and new milestones has been absolutely insane! I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t tired half the time. 🥲 The horses are patient, the little one is not lol! I’ve been out of the saddle near 3weeks now 😆 longest I’ve had off since having her! How insane. Anyways, a good break is always good for the body and brain ⭐️

I do apologise for the late replies - rescheduling and changing viewings/lessons etc

The weather is not in anyone’s favour and our grounds are quite damp and it’s not safe for both rider and horse due to slips and falls! I wish we had a big sand arena 😅
But unfortunately we just have sloshy slippery grass!

And again - with a little one and it being her first winter with RSV & Covid around, I’m hesitant to take her outside in the cold and she’s at that age now she’s awake for longer periods of time and doesn’t nap for as long as what she used to!! So it’s making it difficult on my own at home now, which will slow everything down also!

Just be mindful, I am doing what I can with what I have 💞🐴
Might be limited in content to what we usually share and post! But I am still active, watching, reading, learning etc.

You’ve probably noticed we’ve got some ‘cheaper’ priced horses and they’ve pretty much come straight ott - this is in regards to the weather and limited timing.
We are prioritising clients horses and our personal competition mounts at the minute.
The ott’s are getting the odd couple of rides to get a brief feel for them and then being offered as projects for anyone that may be interested.

I do hope once it warms up and I’ve got a better system for my little one I’ll be able to have the odd one or two in heavy/full time work to produce more schooled horses to offer to you.

But at the minute, we’re getting them from their trainers as they are not able to be held with their trainers for long once retired!
So unless we get a clients horse to sell on their behalf, we won’t have anything suitable for any beginners or novice riders for a short while! 😊

Shows are starting back up in a little over a month, so we’ll start show prepping again over the next week or two with our show horses ❤️‍🔥

Fingers crossed for some sunny days ☀️

Very old photo of Kodak back in her prime 💞 she’s extremely fat and out of work now!! 🤣
She gave me some awesome competition years.

He’s pretty cruisey for a 3yo! Extremely unbalanced but he’s very green. Straight forward and very willing. 🐴💞

An awesome project for anyone looking for something with looks and green/ready to go.

Mia (13) is capable enough to ride him around. Proves he’s very sane and quiet ⭐️

Has not shown any vices of buck, bolt, kick, rear, bite etc. still a baby and green - experienced homes only.
Has turned out feet - retired sound. (Dead last each race)..

Wendel! Hes quite cute, I’m really not sure why no one’s snagged him up 🤣😅
Walk ✅
Trot ✅
Canter ✅
With no buck, bolt, rear, etc.
he’s not lazy and a little ‘strong’ on the bit. But again, has only had limited work and was pretty much placed in a paddock to retire and live out his days. So he’s done really god damn well!!
And is just getting better and easier with more work..

Some days he’s as easy as chips to catch, others he takes a minute or two (bit cheeky - will see if he can avoid work)
Will tie up if you don’t actually hard tie him up - otherwise is known to pull back.
Dominant with other horses - will bite and chase them away, especially if there is food around! 😫😅🐴

But look, he’s pretty straight forward for a knowledgable rider or hoony ‘cowboy’ to just use around the farm. Would be fine for a leadline I feel too.
No completely beginners.

He was bought back into work by a 13yo competent rider, shows he’s pretty simple! 😊🐴
Even better with ground work/lunging first. Will be awesome in full time work with a regular rider/handler.

I love this horse. Look how far he’s come! A really nice ride tonight considering he’s had some time off!! 💞🐴 Just get one and go. Little rushy on the left rein in the trot from trot to canter, but he’s still a baby so still developing his muscle xx

Zip!
Registered QH gelding 8yrs old.

Had our first ride with him tonight (have been waiting for him to put enough weight on) and safe to say, he is as lazy as all anything. I have never had a horse this lazy in my life… I could not for the life of me get him to canter, I just couldn’t. Kick, click, push, squeeze all you want - good luck. The more I wanted him to move, the slower he’d go. It literally was frustrating! 😫🤣

If you want a horse to just walk and trot around on, I’m sure you’ll enjoy zip… we did give him a pretty solid lunge first to get any cobwebs out - Trent had to lunge him he wouldn’t canter on the lunge for me either. But he did for Trent and it does look lovely! (Trents a bit hardier than I am)

He’ll need much more consistency and work - maybe someone that can use a lot of leg and keep him forward.

He does pull back when hard tied - did not tonight but has before and prev owner also stated this!
He does founder so you need to watch his weight, he has rotation of the pedal bone (result from foundering) and pigeon toed/turned out therefore requires front shoes always! Every 5-6weeks. ⭐️
X-Rays available - sound to ride and his sole has not dropped. (Promising).

Excellent with other horses (bottom of the pecking order) fine to rug, very sensible and loveable, excellent to catch, fine to tack up - just don’t tie him up he will pull back! It’s a ‘sudden move’ around his head or walking underneath the front of him when he’s tied up he doesn’t like - OR anything on top of his head !
When we floated him which was when we picked him up, he walked on, rushed off, reared then walked straight back on.
I showed him a tarp once and he had a little bit of a worry minute and reared up also then was fine back to docile and sleepy.

Not for beginners he is extremely green and has limited under saddle experience and no exposure to anything.
He is very much a project mount - would be an awesome mount for liberty/clinic work to bond with and work with. Would probably be the best trail riding horse to sit at the back and just follow the group.

NO beginners, no inexperienced homes!
No trials, no leases.
Priced accordingly to match the market and his lack of knowledge + his feet issues.

$2000.00
We are able to help assist to get him to Deniliquin this coming Saturday for a transport fee.

I’ll keep him in light work ridden every second day or so for ‘fun’ or ‘ploddy’ up until he finds his new home. (Will be quite picky he wasn’t in the best state when we picked him up and I do feel for him!)

Not registered,
15hh

Suit experienced knowledgable home for project purposes. Can be cold backed and will buck, has reared before also. Was sent to a breaker for more schooling a few months back but has not been in consistent work and is extremely out of work. Will be fresh!

Excellent floater/loader/traveller, will stand tied all day, good to wash - ok to catch (better with food) likes a slow approach for catching, pick up all fours good with farrier.
No kick, bite, bolt.
Has bucked and has reared before.

Been ridden along roads/highways
When in full time hard consistent work he’s pretty good. BUT out of work, he goes back to being very very very green. He needs LOTS of miles and wet saddle pads - suit young bloke wanting a future mustering/cowy horse who has the time and some grit about him.

Priced accordingly for a quick sale - no trials, no leases, extremely out of worth therefore no test rides he will need some solid ground work for a good week before getting back on.
No fault of his own, just lacked the consistency with riders time restraints.

Located Dubbo NSW
Can get him down toward Deniliquin this coming weekend for an excess transport fee.

Priced $2500 or best offer, excellent home and a quick sale.
Priced extremely cheap - was more expensive to purchase and had a few weeks at a breaker! An absolute steal and very much our loss your gain.

One horse we will always wonder about! I’m sure a lot of people will.. by far the horse that I’ve had the most inquiries about - ever ! 🤪
He is truly a saint. He proves that daily - one horse that found a purpose and knew his job! Just keep his rider safe ⭐️

Tells Tails

A really lovely mare, and has a lot to offer. A very nice trot but is rushy from trot to canter transition!
Beautiful soft trot once worked down though! Not a hot horse but quite looky and interested in what’s going on around her head up/ears pricked.

Did pull back once when tied but then didn’t do it again. Didn’t break off - came back from the pressure.
She’s barefoot, looks to hold weight well but is a wind sucker and will find anything even if it’s a stick to wind suck on. 🤦🏼‍♀️😫

Good with others, good to catch rug, float wash etc. all the basics

Really would suit a junior wanting their first project or someone wanting to produce a fairly nice little ridden mount -
Broodmare or companion is also fit for purpose too. 😊

Doug ⭐️

Doug is a 3yo 15.3hh (roughly) ottb gelding.
Very very quiet and sweet, good walk-trot but extremely unbalanced in the canter and has no steer or stop - did have quite a quick/forward canter also.
He will be a long term project for someone - he’s got no nasties but will need excessive transition work/pessoa system/round yard work with a rider who has the time for a baby.

Absolutely no beginners - he’s quite d***y and docile, and has zero cares for life..

State of Light!

Pretty cruisy and a typical 3yo, 15.2hh roughly.
Unbalanced but extremely willing. Has an awesome naturally quiet temperament!

Makes some wild grunting noises when asked to work forward - doesn’t seem like a ‘breathing issue’ but a ‘I don’t want to do this’ grunt. But who knows - you can look more into it or you don’t have to. Doesn’t seem to have any affect and we worked him well. ⭐️

Unfortunately - now this is his biggest let down and why I’m actually considering advertising him (we were going to hold onto him) he has quite bad pigeon toe in both fronts - No lameness of any sort and is barefoot but I know it’s a fault not many people want! Especially show world 🥲

So priced extremely reasonable with one ride off track as is and will be in work for the next week or two here with us, and then he is most welcome to leave for his next career. (Due to high numbers horses are getting basic minimum work off track with us for you to continue their education - no beginner ones for a little while till we cut numbers down and can spend more time on them individually).

No trials, no leases
Vet check welcome at buyer expense.
Short Payment plan available but will be priced at $2400.00 if needing a payment plan. (To cover excess costs of stay).

Both photos found on the internet 🐴 credit to whoever owns them/took them.

Which one is your child??

“Looking for a horse for my child, needs to be safe, has this has that etc”.

Ok, what’s the riding ability of your child?

“They’ve been riding for 2-3years”

Ok, so they can walk, trot, canter independently off lead in an open arena?

“No, they are in a round yard under strict supervision and can trot on a lunge”.

Ok, so your child can’t ride.

“But they’ve been doing riding lessons for over a year”

Ok, have they ever ridden a horse outside of a riding centre?

“No they haven’t”

Ok, your child can’t ride.

I think now days people over estimate their own abilities of what is ‘riding a horse’.
No horse will be as easy as a riding centre horse, they have a routine, they are ridden by multiple people all day every day that is why they are so quiet. If you plan to ride your horse 5-6 times a day for half hour to an hour each ride of course they’ll be excellent.
Take a riding centre horse and give it a week in a new environment and don’t ride it for a week, tell me if it’s the same horse.

So this is why I so strongly stand by having a good inductor by your side, attending clinics, getting lessons, watching YouTube videos to gain your own knowledge.

Dont go and buy a horse expecting riding centre quiet, and don’t listen to “experienced horse people” that tell you what YOU need, “get something the ages between this so you have it for X amount of years”.
Although a young horse may be quiet, you need to understand they need to be worked more than an aged plodder and will need to be kept ‘tuned’ every so often and will most likely Change when they develop more.
Aged means experienced, means more miles. Dont rule out a good young horse, but be aware they’ll have ‘baby’ moments you’ll need to work through.

I remember when old bush ponies were priced accordingly and you only ever got 2-3yrs out of them but they taught you so much, some had chips in ears, banged up feet, old scars and bumps etc.
now no one wants to buy an old bush pony because they’ll only get ‘2-3’ yrs out of them but no ones willing to learn more or take into consideration young horses have not had as much experience or exposure as the older ponies and then expect trainers to make quiet horses in a short time frame for a low dollar. But then don’t want to put the work in to them to keep them quiet. Unfortunately young horses go feral if you don’t keep them in work - I see it all the time.
A lot of our horses are quiet BUT they’re in heavy full time every day work, and I do say that to anyone who purchases ours “they are in full time heavy work, ridden daily or handled daily”.
So it’s hard for me when people come back and say “it’s not what you sold” where it was, it’s just you let it go, all the work we did unfolded because you couldn’t maintain it.. it’s just upsetting for me because I know those horses are nice and I know what they can offer.
Then they get a bad name or we get a bad name when it wasn’t ours or theirs faults, that’s the way of the horse world now. Everyone else is to blame but the buyer 😅
All we can do is be honest and show as much as possible through videos and photos and let you decide for yourself if it’s something you can work with..
the main thing I dislike is when people come to view and we do an excellent viewing BUT they over estimate their own riding ability and either refuse to ride or say the horse isn’t as advertised 🤪
It is not my job to determine your riding ability, but keep in mind my horses are quiet because they are in heavy work 😊 not as quiet as a riding centre horse, but close to.
If you ride them once or twice a week or let them sit, they might pick up bad habits or show colours we have never seen before, because we’ve never let them get to that point. 😊

Things your riding instructor wants you to know:
1. This sport is hard. You don't get to bypass the hard…..every good rider has gone through it. You make progress, then you don't, and then you make progress again. Your riding instructor can coach you through it, but they cannot make it easy.

2. You're going to ride horses you don't want to ride. If you're teachable, you will learn from every horse you ride. Each horse in the barn can teach you if you let them. IF YOU LET THEM. Which leads me to…

3. You MUST be teachable to succeed in this sport. You must be teachable to succeed at anything, but that is another conversation. Being teachable often means going back to basics time and time and time again. If you find basics boring, then your not looking at them as an opportunity to learn. Which brings me to…..

4. This sport is a COMMITMENT. Read that, then read it again. Every sport is a commitment, but in this sport your teammate weighs 1200 lbs and speaks a different language. Good riders don't get good by riding every once in awhile….they improve because they make riding a priority and give themsevles opportunity to practice.

5. EVERY RIDE IS AN OPPORTUNITY. Even the walk ones. Even the hard ones. Every. Single. Ride. Remember when you just wished someone would lead you around on a horse? Find the happiness in just being able to RIDE. If you make every ride about what your AREN'T doing, you take the fun out of the experience for yourself, your horse, and your instructor. Just enjoy the process. Which brings me to...

6. Riding should be fun. It is work. and work isn't always fun.....but if you (or your rider) are consistently choosing other activities or find yourself not looking forward to lessons, it's time to take a break. The horses already know you don't want to be here, and you set yourself up for failure if you are already dreading the lesson before you get here.

7. You'll learn more about horses from the ground than you ever will while riding. That's why ground lessons are important, too. If you're skipping ground lessons (or the part of your lesson that takes place on the ground), you're missing out on the most important parts of the lesson. You spend far more time on the ground with horses than you do in the saddle.

8. Ask questions and communicate. If you're wondering why your coach is having you ride a particular horse or do an exercise, ask them. Then listen to their answer and refer to #3 above.

9. We are human beings. We make decisions (some of them life and death ones) every day. We balance learning for students with workloads for horses and carry the bulk of this business on our shoulders. A little courtesy goes a long way.

Of all the sports your child will try through their school years, riding is one of 3 that they may continue regularly as adults (golf and skiing are the others). People who coach riding spend the better part of their free time and much of their disposable income trying to improve their own riding and caring for the horses who help teach your child. They love this sport and teaching others…..but they all have their limits. Not all good riders are good coaches, but all good coaches will tell you that the process to get good is not an easy one.
