Huge congratulations to our Best in Show from our Asian Fusion/ Freestyle class Elizabeth Kendall and Runner Up Best in Show from our poodle class Lainey Seeney. (proper photos to come over the next couple of days, along with links to our sponsors’ special offers for competitors emailed privately).

And of course a massive thank you again to our sponsors The Clipper Shop, MS Brand Scissors, Sustainable Salons, igroomhub.com.au, The Treatery, Bow Wow Bakery, Dog Bowz by Lisa, Wiggle Butts Pet Co and any others we’ve missed!

We’re not quite home yet- it’s a huge day with a 5am start to get everything sorted especially given our towing car broke down on the way to pick up key and set up the venue early last night so if we’d done more set up yesterday we wouldn’t have been home until 3 or 4am (and keeping in mind we were reliant on the family who came to our rescue yesterday to drop us home!)

Unfortunately we battled the weather with a power outage during judging of our morning class which put us more behind than we allowed time for but persevered through. Our judges Dani and Nat did a superb job catching up as much time as possible without compromising on judging quality. A huge thank you to everybody who was patient and understanding- it’s always frustrating when something runs behind schedule but on days like today we can be limited with our options while still ensuring every competitor is judged fairly and thoroughly. Grooming comps aren’t something that turns over much of a profit, it’s done out of a huge love for our industry and wanting it to flourish and grow and we were just as disappointed that we ran behind schedule for the afternoon today. We definitely plan to continue growing and tweaking our little comp but do want to add we’re only human and even with perfect planning sometimes a cog in the works like Melbourne’s crazy weather can make things a bit trickier on the day!

I’ll post the full list of placings tomorrow and stay tuned for our photos to come! 😊

Thank you everybody for a great day regardless of the bumps and we hope everybody gets a lovely night’s sleep and had a great day of networking, groomign and growing your skills!

We will have signage at the entrance on Bennet St to the Reserve and another sign to the carpark (take first right after entering the reserve from Bennet St towards the Poultry pavilion past the Dandenong Football and Netball club signage 😊
