Blue Bellied Black Snake (Dangerously Venomous) 🐍⚠️🔥 from Rosenthal Heights

This snake thought he had the best spot in the house. Great place to stay warm. The poor electricians who opened up the box to commence work. Got a little bit of a fright naturally when a highly venomous snake was infront of there face .😱⚡️

Announcement 📣

We are pleased to confirm we are now licensed to service residents and businesses across the border! After settling into our new home and helping our neighbours across the Southern Downs it quickly came to our attention that NSW residents had no one to help relocate unwanted reptiles and so we have been reissued with our NSW permit.

🐍 Hudson Snake Catching – Winter Update: Southern Downs & Granite Belt ❄️

As the colder months settle in across the Southern Downs and Granite Belt, snake activity has slowed right down—but it hasn’t disappeared completely.

During winter, snakes become far less active as they enter a semi-dormant state known as brumation. You’re much less likely to see them out and about, especially on those frosty mornings and chilly afternoons we’ve been having lately. That said, on the occasional sunny winter day, it’s still possible to spot a snake basking to warm up—particularly around rocks, sheds, woodpiles, or sunny patches near homes.

We’ve had a small number of call-outs recently, mostly involving snakes seeking shelter in warm, protected spots like garages, under houses, or in stored materials. This is completely normal behaviour as they look for stable temperatures through the colder season.

👉 What you can do this winter:
• Keep yards tidy and reduce clutter where snakes might shelter
• Be cautious when moving firewood, tin, or debris
• Keep pets supervised, especially on warmer winter days
• Seal gaps around buildings where possible

If you do come across a snake, remember—don’t try to handle it yourself. Even in winter, they can still defend themselves if threatened.

Hudson Snake Catching remains on call throughout the season, ready to safely relocate any unwanted visitors.

Stay warm and stay safe,
Hudson Snake Catching🐍
