Karijini with our 11 month old .. how special ✨️

-Fortescue Falls - Fern Pool - Knox Gorge - Joffre Falls - Kermits Pool (our fav) - Hamersley Gorge - Kalamina Gorge

Little Ellie was teething this week .. and we actually think it was easier being out and about hiking with the scenery/swims 🤭

🐶 No dogs allowed. We found a lovely teacher with a lab who Sandy played with all week though the FB group 'Tom Price/Paraburdoo Petsitters/housesitters'. We also booked at the Tom price Kennels, and got a complete refund as we cancelled prior to 24 hours out.

- Kalbarri - Monkey Mia - Denham - 14 Mile - Winderbandi - North Lefroy - Exmouth.

A month slowly exploring this region was 🙌🙌.
We found this region particularly dog friendly. However, outside of the towns/campsites, there are warning signs up for 1080 baits and dingos roaming.
Our highlights:
- Kalbarri ✨️ We stayed at Tasman Holiday Park and it was a perfect short stroll to town, the pelican feeding and the beach.

- Monkey Mia ✨️ RAC resort is dog friendly, on the brach but not in the dolphin feeding area. The bar is dognfriendly in the outdoor area, too, with beautiful ocean (and dolphin!) views.

Denham ✨️ Tasman Holiday Park was a massive, clean, and tidy park. The ocean is very shallow, however, so you have to go out a while for a swim. The cafe is dog friendly, and the pies at the bakery are 👌 The aquarium is dogs on leash and worth a look 🦈🐟🐠 And the playground is pretty cool too. We loved the vibe of this sleepy fishing town.

14 Mile/ The Ridge ✨️ A coastal off-grid campsite located south of Coral Bay on the Waroora Coast. All bookings through parkstaywa.com.au. Bookings open 6 months in advance, and we had no booking but snagged a 3 night stay at the RIdge 1 night prior. Check for cancellations! The Ridge is connected to 14 Mile but higher on the dunes, still with ocean views.

Winderbandi ✨️ Wow, we got lucky snagging site 35, another last-minute cancellation that came available the day before! It is so special to have our dog here with us 🐶

North Lefroy ✨️ If you land site 1-21, you'll be in paradise 🙌 Big spacious sites, site 19 was the size of a footy field. We did see a very skinny dingo passing through

Exmouth ✨️ We stayed at the popular RAC caravan park, and it was massiveee! However Ningaloo Caravan Park was a closer walk town, so I think next time we'd stay here. Both caravan parks are dog friendly. There is a cool waterpark in town for the littleys.

Which one was your fav?

📍ESPERANCE AND BREMER BAY REGION
What a beauty!

We spent the last 2 weeks exploring this stretch of coastline, in constant awe of its turquoise blue water and white white sand 🙌

Our dog/baby friendly highlights:
⛺️Alexander Bay - 1 hour east of Esperance. Dog friendly. Marked bays, huge campsites - $15/vehicle per night. Honesty box. Toilets onsite. 4wd on beach
⛺️ Quagi Beach. 1 hour west of Esperance. Dog friendly. Marked bays, some small some big canpsites. $15/vehicle per night. Honesty box. Toilets and bore water onsite. Very pretty beach with rockpools to explore at low tide.

🚐 Esperance.
In our 3 years of travel we have hardly had to book however we have come to a quick realisation that in WA you either book or miss out. The 3 coastal caravan parks (all dog friendly) in Esperance were fully booked for the next few months (even though it's not school holidays) so keep that in mind! We stayed at Pink Lake Tourist Park (had to wait a week for a booking) and it was a nice, clean park. However it wasn't walking distance to town so wouldn't have been our first pick. Dog friendly with a jumping pillow for the kids.
There is an overflow in town if you haven't booked and want to stay, however it is the same cost as the caravan parks per night ($40/2 adults + $5/dog for a patch of grass and no caravan park facilities).
🌊 West Beach - dog friendly. Picturesque coastline. Nice for a dip!
🌊Salmon Beach, Fourth Beach, Ten Mile Lagoon and Eleven Mile Beach are all dogs allowed (some timed on/off leash) and are accessed along the Great Ocean Drive (40km loop)
🍻Lucky Bay brewery, a must do! Great fir kids, dog friendly, yum pizzas!

🚐 Bremer Bay
Bremer Bay Caravan Park is a short walk to main beach. Huge park, dog friendly with big campsites. Playground for the kids. Main beach is dog friendly on the far side, also 4x4 accessible. Nice coffee at Orca's coffee van located at main beach. Small businesses helping small businesses - we also weigh coffee vans! ☺️ Thanks Frankie!

We were lucky to have a few days of sunshine (early-mid march) however the nights are a bit brisk. Definitely worth the trade off for the beautiful beaches though!

📍Black Diamond Lake, Collie
190km south of perth

Another dog friendly (on lead) gem!

It was formerly an open cut mine site that ceased operation in the 1950s – so, check the water quality before diving in! But on a sunny day it has some of the bluest water you will see!

There are private little nooks that'll feel like you've got the whole place to yourself!

📍Jurien Bay, WA

2 hours- ish north of Perth, what a dog friendly gem!

We stayed at Jurien Bay Tourist Park with my parents and their two doggos. The caravan park looks to be newly renovated with artifical grass at every site. It was a short stroll to the beach, bakery and restaurant.

🐕 Sandy Cape Recreation Park is a short drive away, which you can also camp at! If you have a 4wd like us, follow the track along, past the rocky section and you'll come to pristine beaches all to yourself! We set the up and called it a day!

The perfect spot for both the baby and the dog! PS on that note - is it normal for our 7 month old to stick her tongue out when the dog greets her .. and then try to lean forward and lick her ... 😝🤭 Got to love the copy at age 🤣🙌
