Although he passed away too soon, U-Genius left behind a legacy of exceptional talent and temperament. U-Genius (Uthopia X Negro) boasts "Gold Medal Blood" on both sides of his lineage, with his sire being Carl Hester’s international Grand Prix star, Uthopia, and his dam, Weidyfleur II (full sister to Valegro), carrying proven performance bloodlines at the highest levels.

Flora’s dam, MS Floriana, is a dream horse in her own right, known for her willingness to please and her success competing in dressage and royal shows. Flora herself possesses a wonderful temperament, natural talent, and a genuine curiosity. She has been carefully brought along in hand and on the ground participating in age-appropriate training sessions including bridling, bitting, long reining, lunging, rugging, tying, float loading, and regular farrier visits every 5 weeks (she is kept barefoot). Her dental care is up to date, with wolf teeth removed and bit seat filed by one of Australia’s best equine dental vets, Dr. Oliver Liyou.

Raised on farm by a small breeder, Flora is accustomed to an environment with exposure to motorbikes, prams, tractors, and more. She is sensible, engaged, and possesses a natural spring to her step, impulsion, and hind leg activity. Flora is an exciting young horse ready for breaking at just over 3 years old, with a current height of 16.2hh.

We have decided to sell Flora to focus on our young family. I am fortunate to still own her dam, MS Floriana, and I trust that Flora will bring immense joy to her new owner, just as she does to us every day.

The passing of a true legend - our mare Rowena R’s sire, we will be giving her a special cuddle and carrot to remember her magnificent father Regardez Moi ❤️

Regardez Moi died today, Monday 28th October 2024.

It was 2pm and it was warmish, 28 degrees celsius. A light sea breeze with shades of coolness ruffled across the Heatherbrae countryside.

Regardez Moi was born on 18th June 1996 - he was 28 years, 4 months and 10 days old.

For me he was everything - such a legend.

He won more than 40 Grand Prix starts. On three occasions he was the Australian Grand Prix Champion. 

Regardez Moi represented Australia in 2009 at the World Cup Finals in Las Vegas, USA. It seems a life time ago that Regardez Moi and I would charge into the arena to the roar of spectators who were packed to the ceiling. Not even any standing room available! The crowd loved Regardez Moi and would start clapping before he even entered the arena. He was like a rock star and I didn’t think the times would ever end. Regardez Moi rocked from Queensland to the Sydney CDI and down to the Melbourne Internationals. Regardez Moi won the Equitana Freestyle on five different occasions.

He was iconic.

As a sire, Regardez Moi was prolific and has sired subsequent Australian Grand Prix Dressage Champions as well as International Eventers up to and including 5* level.

Regardez Moi was always a Gentleman. He was bred by Dr Margaret Evans. When Margaret died she gifted Regardez Moi to Rozzie and I in her will. Margaret loved Regardez Moi and was responsible for choosing his name.

Bree Tillitzki would cool Regardez Moi down every day after he had finished working with me. Bree started cooling Regardez Moi down when she was 12 years of age. This lasted for over 10 years and reached across the world to Las Vegas where Bree turned 18. Bree went to every competition which Regardez Moi went to all over Australia and all over the world.

The painting was done by Aaron Kinnane who is now a recognised artist in the Newcastle region. Aaron was a working pupil at Ryan’s back in the day when he was just 17 years of age.

Regardez Moi touched the souls of many people and for me was the highlight of my life. All around me Regardez Moi lives on and I was the luckiest person in the world.

Chelsea is officially endorsed as an ESI practitioner after completing the Diploma in Equitation Science.

What is Equitation Science?

‘ Equitation Science is an emerging field that explains why horses behave as they do, their biomechanical patterns and limitations and on this template, how we can modify horse behaviour. It explains what is likely to work and what is unlikely to work in horse training, and how we can communicate more effectively with horses. ‘ (source: ESI - training by the AEBC, Dr Andrew Mclean)

Who are the AEBC?

Dr Andrew McLean developed and manages the Australian Equine Behaviour Centre, specialising in horse training and behaviour modification. Dr Andrew McLean holds a PhD in equine cognition and learning, is a leading contributor to the FEI, Horse racing Australia, Equestrian Australia and Pony Club as well as other international horse boards across all disciplines advising on horse welfare and humane training practices following the latest scientific data.

Chelsea welcomes enquiries for coaching and clinics. Due to time constraints, there are very limited spots. Remote coaching options are available via virtual methods (Pivo, Skype, video assessment, zoom).
