🐣🌾 **BIG CHANGES ARE COMING TO SPINIFEX HERITAGE HENS & HATCHERY!** 🌾🐓

Don't worry, we're not going anywhere just yet! ❤️

Spinifex Heritage Hens & Hatchery is still here, but we have some big changes on the horizon!

We are currently looking at the possibility of relocating our home base, which unfortunately means we need to make some tough decisions and downsize our feathered family. 🏡🐔

As much as we would love to keep everyone, we have quite a few birds looking for their new homes!

🐣 **Chicks & Growing Birds**
We have a variety of breeds available, including Cream Legbars, Minorca crosses, Speckled Sussex, Coronation Sussex, Lavender Sussex and Gold Partridge Brahmas!

🐓 **Older Birds**
We also have some beautiful laying hens and older boys available.

Sadly, after losing our second Coronation Sussex rooster, we've made the difficult decision to offer our Coronation Sussex hens for sale as well. 💔

🪿 **Geese**
We also have five mixed-breed geese looking for a new home, preferably together!

💰 **Prices and details are listed on the poster below!**

📍 Located in the Charters Towers region, North Queensland.

💌 Please send us a message if you're interested in any of our birds or would like some more information.

We want to reassure everyone that **Spinifex Heritage Hens & Hatchery isn't closing down!** We're simply making some changes and preparing for what the future may bring.

A massive thank you to everyone who has supported our little hatchery so far. We appreciate every single one of you and can't wait to see what the next chapter brings! 🤎🌾

🪿💦 SPLISH, SPLASH… HAPPY GEESE! 💦🪿

Our lovely geese are absolutely living their best life today! 🤍

With their pools freshly cleaned and filled with beautiful cool water, it didn’t take long before everyone was straight in for a splash. Add some quality time playing and cooling off under the soaker hose, and we had some very happy, very wet geese! 😂💦

There’s nothing quite like watching them flap, splash, dunk and make an enormous mess of a pool that was clean only moments before. 🤦‍♀️🪿

Fresh pools + soaker hose + happy geese = a pretty good day at Spinifex! 🌿☀️💦

A DIFFICULT COUPLE OF WEEKS AT SPINIFEX

The past two weeks have been incredibly difficult here at Spinifex Heritage Hens & Hatchery. Unfortunately, following an upsetting incident, we have lost several of our beautiful birds.

Sadly, we said goodbye to our Chocolate Orpington chicks, our Speckled Sussex pullets, half of our Coronation Sussex chicks, and, most heartbreakingly, our beautiful Coronation Sussex rooster, Steel. 🤍🌿

Anyone who raises chickens knows they quickly become much more than just birds. We spend countless hours hatching them, caring for them and watching their individual personalities develop, so losing so many in such a short time has been particularly hard.

Amongst the sadness, however, there have been a few little reasons to smile. 🐣🤎 We recently welcomed six beautiful new chicks from the Atherton Tablelands, and after returning home from our trip, we were greeted by the wonderful sight of a full hatcher of newly hatched babies! 🥹🐥

So, while our little Spinifex family looks different than it did a few weeks ago, we’re focusing on the new life in front of us while remembering the beautiful birds we have lost — especially our handsome boy, Steel. 🤍

Here’s hoping the weeks ahead bring healthier, happier days and plenty of little cheeps. 🌾🐣

🥚🧺JUST LOOK AT THAT EGG BASKET!🧺🥚

One of our favourite things about keeping such a beautiful mix of chickens is never knowing exactly what colours we’ll find waiting for us each day. 🤎🌿

Our egg basket is currently filling up with a gorgeous rainbow of blue, green, crisp white, creamy tones, beautiful browns… and even a couple of pretty speckled eggs! 💙💚🤍🤎✨

No two collections ever seem quite the same, and we absolutely love it. From our hens to the basket — nature really does create the prettiest colour palette. 🐔🥰

Just another little reason we love our feathered family 🌾

🐣🧀 WELCOME TO OUR 12 NEW CHEESEBALLS! 🧀🐣

Our latest little arrivals are here — 12 gorgeous Buff Orpington chicks! 💛🐥

With their golden-yellow fluff, round little bodies and ridiculously sweet faces, we can’t help but call them our tiny cheeseballs. 😂

And the incubator had a few more surprises for us… we also welcomed 3 beautiful Coronation Sussex chicks! 👑🐣🤍

That’s 15 new fluffy babies joining the Spinifex family! 🥰

They’re already busy eating, sleeping, cheeping and piling on top of each other, while we’re busy admiring all those adorable little faces.

We can’t wait to watch our cheeseballs and Coronation babies grow! 🌾🤎

There’s nothing sweeter than seeing our little fluffy babies all snuggled up together in one adorable pile. Tiny wings, fluffy bottoms and sleepy little faces — cuteness overload! 🐥🐥🐥

🐔🌿 CLEANING DAY AT SPINIFEX HERITAGE HENS & HATCHERY 🌿🐔

Nothing beats that fresh-coop feeling! 🧹✨

Today was all about giving everyone a good clean-up and reset — tidy runs and happy hens! 🐓🤎

Of course, the girls were well rewarded for supervising our hard work with plenty of fresh leafy snacks 🥬🌿, while some of the flock enjoyed a little free-ranging time, scratching through the grass, exploring and soaking up the afternoon. ☀️🐔

There’s something so satisfying about finishing cleaning day and seeing everyone happily scratching around in their fresh homes. 🤍

Fresh coops, full bellies & happy chickens! 🐣🌿✨
