Let’s take a moment for this gorgeous boy Sunny 🙌

How cute are his little dapples 🙊

His owner was frustrated by the excess sweat after exercise in this warmer weather and with Sunny just starting to malt it was the perfect time for an Irish clip!

Oh I love a good clip when they start to malt! You barely notice the shedding - no more leaving the stables looking like chewbacca’s stunt double 😂

I was laughing with Amanda today about all Frankie’s weird and wonderful whorls, can someone tell me if there is a superstition about whorls? I feel like there is but I can’t quite remember! 😂

Thanks to for coming to the rescue and supplying me with some clipper to get Frankie done! Sadly my blades were still being sharpened this weekend so I had to reschedule a couple of my clients.

We will be back to clipping as per usual next weekend when my blades return.

Clipping season is in full swing!

Here is Codie in his fresh Hunter Clip with a Full Head.

Codie was sedated during the clip which made things much more easy, efficient and comfortable for everyone - especially around his face.

Please consider sedation for your horse during a clip. Sedation is required for full clips and full head clips but optional for other clips if your horse is quiet and comfortable with clippers.

Today’s plaiting model is dear Frankie 🥰

He had the thickest mane in the top 1/2, so I thinned it first (using my special thinning scissors) then plaited his mane, making for more even delicate plaits.

I also plaited his tail but forgot to get a photo 🙈

✨Learn to Plait at Nearside Equestrian 29th April ✨

Do you spend hours training your horse to finally rock up to a competition with scruffy little appendages jutting out of your horses neck? Sorry if anyone feels personally victimised 😂

Come and learn how to plait like a pro so you look and feel like a pro on competition day!

The session will run for around 2hrs and will cover basic trimming preparation, mane, forelock and tail plaiting, and 1x style of quarter mark.

You can bring your own steed to practice on.

Spots are limited and the group will be small to allow for some 1:1 assistance.
