Behind the scenes of a saddle assessment… with a very cheeky boy! 🐴
Speck is a good example that a saddle needs to fit the horse and the rider. The wrong saddle can put both at risk of injury.
Saddle fit involves more than just how the saddle sits on the horse’s back. The saddle must also allow the rider to sit in balance safely and provide adequate limb clearance so both the horse and rider can move freely as needed.
I like to mark up the horse so we can get a visual of how much room they need (especially if they're a big peachy boy like Speck). From there we can narrow down the styles and align them with the riders physical ability and comfort.
I don't sell saddles but I can support you during the process and communicate with saddleries.
Meanwhile my assistant here thinks the real job is making sure none of my equipment survives the process. Just goes to show fancy tools arent always necessary! 😆
