🐾 A Little Life Update from Belle 🐾
We wanted to take a moment to explain why we’ve been a bit quiet lately.
A couple of weeks ago, we thought Belle just had a sore leg. As dog parents do, we trusted our gut and pushed for blood tests and that decision quite literally saved her life.
Belle was diagnosed with a rare and serious immune disease called IMTP (Immune-Mediated Thrombocytopenia), where the body attacks its own platelets. Things escalated very quickly and she spent time in intensive care, requiring specialist treatment, scans, and round-the-clock monitoring.
It was one of the scariest times of our lives.
The good news 🤍
Belle responded to treatment, fought incredibly hard, and is now home recovering. She still has a long road ahead, but she is stable, comfortable, and very much herself again.
We wanted to share this not only to explain our recent absence, but also to raise awareness. IMTP can present with very subtle symptoms, and early blood tests and strong advocacy can make all the difference. Always trust your instincts and advocate for your dog, you know them best.
A huge thank you to the incredible team at SASH Tuggerah for their expertise, compassion, and for bringing our little girl home to us. We will never be able to thank you enough.
