Czarina Russians

Czarina Russians went on a road trip from Brisbane to Armidale about a month ago and I owe not just my babies but also all you an update on how they went. We travelled in a convoy with Jenny from Azureblue Russians and our dear friend and fellow exhibitor Amanda.

To say the least, we’ve had an absolutely incredible time at the show!

With 6 rings plus a highly competitive Russian Specialty ring judged be Anne Harvey, the competition was stiff—facing off against 26 entire cats (including 7 Russians) and a huge lineup of 40 kittens (including 6 Russians).
Our stars truly shone, bringing home a mountain of ribbons and some very special accolades! 🐾✨

🌟 Czarina Silver Azore (Entire Class)
Our elegant Azore held her own beautifully in a tough field:
2x Best of Bree
1x Reserve of Breed
2x 3rd Place (Overall Shorthair Entire Class)
3rd Place in the Russian Specialty Ring

🌟 Czarina Silver Anatoliy (Kitten Class)
Toliy was a force to be reckoned with, capturing hearts and top spots:
4x Best of Breed
1x Reserve of Breed
1x Best in Class | 1x Reserve in Class

Toliy finished off with winning the Best
overall Russian exhibit based on points.
He won the most beautiful trophy which
was created in memory of Kay Rogers and
had a very special meaning to me. Thank

Our tiniest baby (just 10.5 weeks old!) blew us all away with some unexpected and impressive placings for such a youngster:

I’m so proud of all cats and the wonderful Russian breed community.

It was such a great and relaxed show and so great to catch up with fellow Russian breeders. A massive thank you to the organizers (Armidale and New England Cat Club affiliated with Cats NSW - ACF), judges, and fellow exhibitors for such a memorable event! 💙

What a classic! I couldn’t have captured his cheeky but so lovely temperament any better. 😅

This photo was taken at today’s QFA cat show by Sam Sirle for Toliy’s best in show photo in the shorthair kitten ring. 🥇🏆💙
He also placed 3rd and 4th in a very strong field of about 25 kittens. What a little fire cracker. 🥰

I’ll post results of our weekend away soon but this is too sweet not to share. Azores two beautiful girls have had a blast in Armidale and I was surprised that the show cage was still standing on Sunday late afternoon. 🥰💙

ARMIDALE AND NEW ENGLAND CAT SHOW 2026.

We will be posting some photos of this year's show. I thought I would start with this precious photo of 2 10 week old kittens bred by Jo Probst of Czarina Russians . I think it summarises the whole show. Relaxed and beautiful.

It’s so beautiful to watch the lovely temperament of this young lad. He not only purrs as soon as you lay your eyes on him, he’s also everyone’s best friend - of the kittens but also of all the girls in the house.

I finally found some time to post about the results of the Czarina family at the Cats Queensland cat show last Sunday. Well what can I say, I have been blown away by my babies and I’m still speechless. 🥰🥰🥰

I’ve taken Liney, Azore and Toliy to the show and each one of them has outperformed themselves. I truly couldn’t be prouder of my babies. 💙😻

The show was a three ring show with the following judges:

Ring 1: Sue Ford (New Zealand)
Ring 2: Rosemary Mulchahey (Cats WA)
Ring 3: Fiona Mangan (NSW CFA)

Liney:
Ring 1 - Best in show
Ring 2 - 6th in show
Ring 3 - Best in show

Azore:

Ring 1 - 4th in show
Ring 2 - Best in show
Ring 3 - 6th in show

Toliy:

Ring 1 - reserve in show (2nd)
Ring 2 - best in show
Ring 3 - 3rd in show

Liney then scored Supreme Exhibit under Fiona Mangan. 🥇🥇🥇

Toliy was awarded Supreme Exhibit under Rosemary Mulchahey. 🥇🥇🥇

AND to sum it all up, Liney scored BEST SHORTHAIR CAT in show based on overall points. 💙🥇💙🥇💙

This is something I haven’t experienced before. All cats simply outperformed everything they have achieved before and I’m in awwww with all of them.

Congratulations to all other cats and exhibitors for their great results!

And a huge shout out to the team of cats Queensland for a really relaxed and great show. 🙏☺️

I’ve been send this beautiful photo of “Plum” a couple of days ago. Plum is from my last litter and a sister to Silver Anatoliy who I’m showing at the moment.

Oh dear this girl is maturing so beautifully and her mum and dad are sending me such loving updates:
“We are so proud to get to be her parents. She’s just the best, we can’t imagine life without her 🥰 She’s got such a funny little personality 😁”

🏆✨ WHAT A DAY AT CATS QUEENSLAND INC! ✨🏆
I’m very excited to share that my gorgeous boy Silver Anatoliy has had an incredible day at the Cats Queensland show — competing against 24 kittens and again coming away with not one, not two, but THREE major awards! 🎉
🥇 Best in Show – Shorthair Kitten
🥈 Reserve in Show – Shorthair Kitten
🥉 Third in Show – Shorthair Kitten
This little legend absolutely owned the ring today and I couldn’t be more proud of him! 💙🐾
And my beautiful girl Miss Zendaya also showed up and showed out — placing 8th in Show and 13th in the Kitten Class! A fantastic result for you girl 💕

Some members of the Czarina family attended the first show of the year yesterday. The show was held by QFA as a 3 ring show with a valentines theme. I was working at the show but the kids had a blast. 😅 I only had a sneak peak in between stewarding and oh my, those kittens couldn’t get enough attention and were still playing in the cages at the end of the show while everyone else was already snoozing.

We all had an early start and I took Czarina Rhapsody in Blue, Czarina Miss Zendaya, Czarina Silver Anatoliy and Czarina Silver Lining to the show. All kids were entered in a very strong kitten class (29 kittens).

Liney was the exception and joined the big kids in the adult entire class, being the big boy he is and after his first season as a working boy. Liney earned 2 best of breed and one best in show. I’m so very proud of him, he couldn’t be any less fussed about the showing business as he sleeps literally the whole day. 😴😴😴

Completely the opposite with the kids in their kiddo class. They’ve had a blast and enjoyed all the attention. The girls couldn’t get past little Toliy, he has had an amazing day with earning 3 best of breed (5 Russian kittens). Out of 29 kittens, Toliy placed once best in show and twice reserve in show. The consistency throughout all judges opinion was mind blowing and I’m so proud of this little fella.

Little Zendaya earned two reserve of breed with one 8th place out of 29 kittens and Rhapsy one reserve of breed without a placing.

Again, it is the sad time to say good bye my little darlings.

I can’t describe how beautiful you all are, what pleasure it has been to raise you and how absolutely magical it has been to watch both of your mums co-parenting. From mixing up all you babies within the first week of being born (lucky you did already wear your collars 😅) to the blast you’ve had having so many siblings to play and creating mischief wherever you went.

I’ll miss you dearly but I know that your families will love you infinitely. Now it’s time to spread your wings and show how we have raised you. Share the love and joy we have taught each one of you. Stay as cheeky as you are and have wonderful, long and happy lives.
