Twenty-one months away… and two enquiries for the same date! 🤯

And the part that has completely blown me away? I’m already booked.

It genuinely never gets easier having to tell a couple that I’m unavailable—especially when they’ve taken the time to reach out so far in advance because they feel I might be the right Celebrant for them.

Wedding dates don’t always book in chronological order. There may still be dates available towards the end of this year, while one particular date almost two years away suddenly has multiple couples asking about it!

So, if your date is locked in and you’ve found the vendors who feel like the perfect fit, don’t be afraid to reach out early.

To have couples planning this far ahead and wanting me beside them on their wedding day is something I’ll never take for granted.

Feeling incredibly grateful… and just a little bit gobsmacked! 😊

This is the moment everything becomes real. 💍✨

With the beautiful Gabbinbar in Toowoomba, South East Queensland, as their backdrop—and their favourite people gathered close—these two exchanged rings, shared heartfelt promises and officially began their next chapter together.

Because a wedding ceremony doesn’t need to feel stiff or overly formal. It should feel warm, personal and completely true to the couple standing at the front.

And just like that—with happy tears, enormous smiles and a whole lot of love—they were married. 🤍

Being a small business owner is funny.

You spend so much time looking after everyone else, yet the moment you take a day off, it somehow feels unproductive. Almost… wrong. Guilty, even.

There’s always another email to answer, another quote to send, another social post to write, another wedding to prepare for, or another ceremony script to polish.

But the truth is, rest is productive.

You can’t keep pouring into other people if you never stop to refill your own cup.

So this week, I’ve given myself permission to slow down. I know right!

A mini country escape to Stanthorpe, Queensland. Local wine. A ridiculously good baked Camembert. Fresh air. No deadlines other than feeding Huxley.
No rushing.

Just a chance to reset.

Because the best version of me—for my couples, my business, and the people I love—isn’t the one who’s constantly busy. It’s the one who knows that sometimes the most productive thing you can do is step away, recharge, and come back with a full cup.

Now… if you’ll excuse me, I have a baked Camembert that’s not going to eat itself.
It’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.

Some ceremonies carry more meaning than words can ever fully capture. 🤍
This beautiful ceremony at Ascot Park in Ascot was incredibly special and deeply emotional for everyone there.

Knowing her dad was very unwell, we worked quickly to have a Shortening of Time approved so he could be part of the day. He proudly walked his daughter in and less than 2 weeks later, sadly passed away.

Whether it’s an elopement, a micro wedding or a full-sized celebration, the number of guests never determines the importance of the moment. Sometimes, the simplest ceremonies hold the greatest meaning.

Being trusted to help make this wedding ceremony happen—and to witness such a precious moment between a father and his daughter—is a privilege I’ll never take for granted.

A wedding filled with love, emotion and memories that will now be treasured forever.
And a reminder to hold the people they love just that little bit closer. 🤍

Who knew the perfect Great Gatsby outfit had been hiding in my wardrobe all along?

When the wedding invitation called for a 1920s/Great Gatsby dress code, I went “shopping” in my own cupboard and found this little beauty patiently waiting for another outing.

The dress was fabulous.

The pantyhose… absolutely not. 😳

I haven’t worn pantyhose for years and had completely forgotten just how bloody restrictive they are. I now have a whole new appreciation for my fellow celebrants—and, in fact, anyone who willingly wears them on a regular basis.

You are far stronger humans than I am! Safe to say they were peeled off about 14 seconds after I walked through the front door.

One of my favourite things as a Brisbane celebrant is seeing couples make their wedding completely their own. Whether it’s Great Gatsby glamour, black tie elegance, country boots or barefoot on the beach, embracing a theme adds another layer of fun and personality to the celebration.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be hanging this dress back in the wardrobe… and hoping I don’t need to wear pantyhose again for at least another five years (wait … like ever again). 🥂
