Ebony did a wonderful job kidding two beautiful caramel bucklings earlier this week. But sadly, one was poorly on arrival and didn’t make it. This little darling is being doted on by Mum and has found a friend and playmate in Lucy’s bub, with the two of them already bouncing up a storm together. 🥰🩵

It was an intense and long late night kidding, but all went well and Yazzy delivered two beautiful 85.15% doelings. She was a little in shock during the ordeal, so I took on midwife duties and cleaned each bub as they arrived and finally settled them into their pen altogether for the night. After a little coaxing and help in the morning to place bubs on for a feed, Yazzy quickly switched into Mum mode and has been incredible in tending to the girls since. We are absolutely besotted with these two, and they are the first to carry the caramel Pygmy genetics in our herd. A big thank you to Karen Bowron of Springfield Farm for helping make this happen.😊❤️

Our countdown is finally over as first-time Mum, Bindi, kicks off our kidding season delivering two beautiful 87.5% boys. 🥰 She did an amazing job and the boys were straight up on their feet ready to feed and explore the outside world.

🐐🏅 What a fantastic show day! 🏅🐐
So many high quality goats in the show ring, which really highlighted the dedication of WA breeders in striving for correct form and breed characteristics. We’re so very proud of our show herd, with the majority placing in their categories and Mandean Estate Winnie taking out Champion Junior Doe and overall Reserve Champion.
A huge thanks to all the organisers and a special thanks to Lynn Murfet, who travelled all the way from Tasmania to judge our goats, and did a fantastic job of providing valuable and thorough feedback throughout the day. Hopefully she can come back again! We’re also very lucky to have such an amazing and supportive group of breeders who always make these days a bunch of fun! 😊

The Kalamunda Annual Show is on and we’ll be there tomorrow, Saturday 12th April, with some of our gorgeous Pygmies! Come and join us and our fellow breeders for a (no doubt!) entertaining judged goat show. 😊🐐🎡🍭
