The work includes:
🐗 Invasive animal management
🌱 W**d management
📷 Trail camera & remote security camera work
🚙 Plenty of time working outdoors in the bush

You'll need:
✔️ A reliable 4WD ute
✔️ A current driver's licence
✔️ A good work ethic and willingness to learn

No experience? No worries! We're happy to train the right person.

Most work is around the Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast regions, with the occasional away trip. There is ongoing work available for the right person.

🐗 Over 150 Feral Pigs Removed – And We're Not Done Yet!

Our team has now successfully removed more than 150 feral pigs as part of an ongoing invasive animal management program over the past eight months.

Feral pigs cause significant damage to crops, native vegetation, waterways and sensitive environmental areas, so early intervention and ongoing management are essential.

Using a combination of trail cameras, monitoring, pre-feeding and strategically placed traps, we're able to target entire sounders and achieve long-term results rather than just removing the occasional pig.

Every property is different, and successful pig control requires patience, planning and the right equipment.

🐈 Semi-Feral Cat Program Completed

We recently wrapped up a semi-feral cat management program for a local hardware store after a growing population of cats began breeding on the property and causing ongoing issues.

By using trail cameras and a planned trapping program, we were able to monitor the cats, identify the target animals and safely remove them over several weeks with minimal disruption to staff and customers.

A huge thank you to the staff for their patience and assistance throughout the program. Their cooperation made a big difference to the success of the operation.

Feral and semi-feral cats have a significant impact on our native wildlife and can quickly become a much bigger problem if populations are left unmanaged.

🦊 Another Successful Fox Removal Completed

The CGB Environmental Management team recently completed a fox removal program at a retirement village in Scarborough after a fox found its way into a secure bird and chicken enclosure.

Working in a built-up residential area required a carefully planned approach to ensure the safety of residents, pets and wildlife. After monitoring the fox's movements, we successfully captured and removed the animal, putting an end to the ongoing losses.

Every situation is different, and in urban environments it's important that invasive animal control is carried out safely, professionally and in accordance with Queensland regulations.

Casual Field Technician / Subcontractor Wanted

We're looking for a reliable and motivated Casual Field Technician / Subcontractor to join the CGB Environmental Management team.
This is a hands-on outdoor role working across a variety of environmental and biosecurity projects throughout the Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast council areas, with occasional travel for projects further afield.
What you'll be doing:
Invasive animal management (wild dogs, feral pigs, foxes, feral cats and deer)
Invasive w**d management
Trail camera installation and monitoring
Remote security camera monitoring and surveillance work
Property inspections and environmental monitoring
General field work in remote locations
What we're looking for:
✅ ABN preferred (subcontractor arrangement)
✅ Own reliable 4x4 ute (essential)
✅ Current driver's licence
✅ Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all conditions
✅ Honest, reliable and able to work independently
✅ Willing to learn and take direction
Experience is an advantage, but not essential. We're happy to train the right person with the right attitude.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, has an interest in conservation, agriculture, pest management or rural work, and is looking for ongoing work with a growing local business.
Ongoing work is available for the right person.

The CGB team recently completed vegetation management works along sections of the Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail, focusing on the control of invasive Lantana and Leucaena around several of the trail’s incredible historic bridges.

Projects like this are important not only for improving access and presentation of the trail, but also for helping protect native vegetation and preserving the character of these historic structures for future generations.

Working in some beautiful country with a bit of local history mixed in always makes for a rewarding job.

Great effort by the crew getting through some challenging terrain and overgrown areas safely and efficiently.
