Due to all the rain we had been having, and the effect it had on the condition of the arena, riding classes were cancelled last week.
But the time was not wasted with Sharon putting it to good use and conducted volunteer training instead.
Ongoing training is an important part of RDA, helping volunteers build confidence, keep skills up to date, and continue supporting riders and horses safely.
A lighter moment from the day was Jay, who was itchy and had been scratching himself on the rail.
A volunteer spent most of the lesson scratching his tail, while he swayed gently from side to side, clearly enjoying every minute of it. Causing much entertainment to onlookers.
Most days at RDA involve riding, training and teamwork — and some days involve making a horse very happy with a good scratch!
