Complete Canine Care Love using massage to help dogs
Being a voice for the dog and an advocate for their best well-being. Hi, I am Genevieve.
(1)

I am a Canine Myofunctional therapist and Veterinary Nurse

I help all breeds of dogs and their different life stages. It's like Massage but a complementary treatment involving remedial soft tissue, sports massage, stretching techniques, rehabilitative exercises and lifestyle management. I have over 30 years of experience in the veterinary industry and bring a wealth of knowledge, skills and hands

-on experience to my service. The real reason I do what I do is I have a passion for dogs and enhancing a dog's quality of life, optimal health, happiness, performance and longevity. I got into Massage for natural pain relief options that are often effective for mild to moderate pain, with or without other pain medications. I have noticed some of the problems most dog owners face.
- Lameness and Limping
- Stiffness of joints
- Difficulty going up and down stairs; getting in and out of the car
- Old before their time – slower on walks
- Yelping when you touch certain areas of the body. I believe Massage can realign and re-balance our dog patients' physical and emotional well-being. If this sounds like your dog and what your dog would benefit from, please Get in touch by email, text or call.

Did you know? 🐾 Poor posture in dogs can start right at the toes!

When nails are too long, they press into the floor and create pressure that travels back into the nail bed. 😣 To relieve the discomfort, your dog shifts their weight backwards—leading to whole body posture changes over time. 😢

✅ Healthy posture starts with healthy nails!
When there's no pressure from overgrown nails, your dog can stand tall, balanced, and pain-free. 💪🐕

✨ I offer nail trims as part of my massage sessions to help restore posture and comfort from the ground up.

"Why My Own Wellness Matters for Your Dog"

I don’t just care for dogs—I care for myself too, because the work I do requires presence, energy, and a calm nervous system.

That’s why I invest in regular massage, acupuncture, infrared saunas, yoga, and a clean, minimally processed diet. These practices keep my body strong, my mind clear, and my nervous system regulated—so I can give my best to every dog I treat.

Dogs are incredibly sensitive to our energy. When we're stressed, tense, or depleted, they feel it. When we're grounded, calm, and balanced, they relax more easily—and healing can happen more effectively.

So yes, I practise what I preach. And I love seeing dog owners begin to look after themselves better too—it creates a powerful ripple effect. Your dog benefits when you feel better. 🐾💛

🐾 Welcome Moose to the Massage Community! 🐾

Meet Moose, a 2-year-old dachshund with a big heart, beautiful manners, and some of the most proactive fur parents you’ll ever meet 💛

Saige reached out when they noticed subtle changes in Moose’s movement—bunny hopping when he runs and a shift in how he sits. These are important early signs of discomfort, often linked to tension in the spine and hindquarters—especially in long-backed breeds like dachshunds.

To help Moose feel and move better, we made several key changes:
✅ No more slippery floor zoomies—those polished wooden floors and tight corners were making Moose drift like a race car… not ideal for a long spine!
✅ Stairs? Nope! Moose is now carried up the internal wooden stairs to protect his back.
✅ Nail and paw trims—done and maintained! Long nails can seriously impact posture and gait.
✅ Outdoor adventures scaled back—as much as he loves Mt Coot-tha, long hikes are off the cards for now.
✅ Non-slip mats and runners have been added throughout the home to support better traction and stability.

Since making these changes, Moose is now sitting square, his spine feels so much better, and he’s visibly more comfortable. 🙌

His fur dad Josh is absolutely smitten—Moose is his very first dog and you can see the bond between them is unbreakable. 🐶❤️ Moose is also one of the most polite dachshunds I’ve ever met—friendly, social, and an absolute joy to treat.

Welcome to the Complete Canine Care family, Moose! 🐕✨

🐾 Welcome Moose! 🐾
Moose is a 2-year-old dachshund with seriously dedicated pawrents 🐶💛

His mum Saige contacted me after noticing bunny hopping and changes in how he sat. After his assessment and massage, we made a few key changes:
✅ No more zooming on slippery floors
✅ Carried up stairs only
✅ Nail + paw trim
✅ New fitted harness
✅ Shorter walks (sorry, Mt Coot-tha!)
✅ Non-slip mats throughout the home

Now Moose is sitting square, his spine feels so much better, and he’s moving more comfortably 🙌
His fur dad Josh (first-time dog parent!) is completely smitten 🥹
And Moose? One of the best-mannered dachshunds I’ve ever met!

A Letter to Your Dog

Today, I want to write a letter to your dog.

After all, they might just have the most important job in the world.

No, they don’t wear suits, sit in boardrooms, or jet-set around the globe to meet with presidents and CEOs.

But from what I’ve seen, your dog has a far greater impact on your life than any Fortune 500 executive ever could.

It begins each morning with a tail wag and a wide, joyful grin — and it continues all day long.

Your dog is the reason you get up, go outside, move your body, and breathe fresh air — even when you don’t feel like it. 😊

They’re your confidant and constant companion.

An ear that listens without judgment.
A steady presence to lean on.
A heart that loves without condition.

They’re your social icebreaker, too.

Your furry wingman (or wingwoman) who sparks conversations and turns strangers into friends.

Your dog is a fitness coach, a therapist, a best friend, and a peace ambassador — all wrapped up in a warm, wiggly, tail-wagging bundle.

And they don’t even have a résumé!

But who needs one when you’re this good at your job?

Spending time with our dogs lowers our stress, boosts our immune system, and even helps us live longer.

So, let’s add doctor to that impressive list of qualifications, shall we?

And perhaps the most humbling thing of all is how little they ask in return.

Just our time, our love, some belly rubs…and maybe a few delicious treats (which, let’s be honest, they’ll always try to negotiate for more of — master negotiators that they are!). 😉

So here’s to your dog — to all of our dogs.

For the unconditional love they give.
For the quiet lessons they teach.
For the joy, comfort, and light they bring into our lives.

They’re not just pets.

They’re our partners.
Our healers.
Our heartbeats with paws.

They may not chase titles or promotions, but they remind us every single day how to love, how to live, and what truly matters.

Give your dog a big, heartfelt hug from me today. ❤️🐶

Welcome Back, Chloe! 💛

A very special welcome to 13-year-old Chloe, who has officially joined the Complete Canine Care community—although it feels more like a reunion than a welcome! Years ago, I cared for Chloe and her devoted owner Diane while working as a veterinary nurse and receptionist, so reconnecting with them again truly warmed my heart. 🥰

Chloe is such a loyal soul and follows Diane everywhere—it’s clear just how strong their bond is. Diane reached out wanting to give Chloe more comfort and mobility in her senior years, and I couldn’t wait to help.

🏡 During the home assessment, we looked at:
• 🧼 Slippery tiled floors—these were making it hard for Chloe to feel safe on her feet
• 🍽️ Elevating food and water bowls to reduce strain
• ✂️ Trimming the hair on her paw pads to help with grip
• 🧴 Encouraging regular grooming to support the muscles and fascia

💆‍♀️ Chloe’s first massage was just beautiful—her face visibly softened, her body relaxed, and she was already moving more freely. I could see the difference straight away.

And I wasn’t the only one curious about what was going on…
😹 Smokey the cat made a surprise video bomb appearance, clearly wanting to join in!
🐶 Gus, the corgi–jack russell–cattle dog mix, kept checking in like a little supervisor.
🐕‍🦺 And Bella the kelpie popped in for moral support and maybe a bit of FOMO!

We’re now starting weekly treatments for 6 weeks to gently support Chloe’s body through these changes—with Diane doing some simple homework in between.

What exactly are we waiting for? ⚠️🐾

Why do we keep saying, “Let’s see what happens”—even when the signs are staring us in the face?

I hear it all the time:
🐕 “He’s slowing down.”
🐶 “He’s growling at the other dogs.”
😕 “He’s just not himself lately.”

These aren’t just quirks of aging. These are red flags.
Pain. Discomfort. Muscular compensation. Early cruciate injury. Behaviour changes caused by chronic pain.

⏱️ Waiting doesn’t help—it makes things worse.
More muscle loss. More joint stress. More pain. And more behaviour issues we could have prevented.

🔍 I offer in-home assessments to help identify what needs to change—slippery floors, furniture setup, repetitive strain from routines, even something as simple (and overlooked) as long nails putting pressure through the spine and changing posture.

✂️ If you can hear your dog’s nails tapping on the floor—it’s time for a trim. Nail care is part of what I do, and it can have a huge impact on posture, pain, and movement.

🎯 Don’t wait for things to get worse. Let’s make proactive changes now, and give your dog the comfort they deserve.

🐾 Did you know your dog’s nails can affect their entire posture? 🐾

When nails are too long and constantly touch the ground, the brain interprets it as if the dog is walking uphill ⛰️. In response, the body shifts its posture to adapt—causing unnatural movement patterns.

This change can place stress on the spine, often leading to lordosis (a swayback posture) and long-term discomfort 😟.

It’s a powerful reminder that something as simple as regular nail care can make a huge difference to your dog’s mobility, comfort, and overall wellbeing 💪🐶.

✨ I offer gentle, stress-free nail trims as part of my service—because small changes can lead to big improvements! ✨

In his first photo, you can see the deep swayback (lordosis) caused by long nails and chronic strain.

After just two massage sessions and a nail trim, his posture already shows improvement—more balance, less curve.

RIP beautiful boy 🐾 You were deeply loved.

🌟 Welcome to the Massage Community, Zambia! 🌟
Meet Zambia—the adorable 2-year-old Frenchie and total daddy’s girl 💕

🖤 When her owners first contacted me, Zambia was panting from pain, reluctant to walk, and struggling with discomfort in her lower back (lumbar region). She had already seen her vet, and thankfully, her family acted quickly to get her the support she needed.

🖤 Our first step? Nail trim. Her nails were so long they were affecting her paw placement, posture, and movement.

✨ From there, we worked together on home adjustments and supportive care:
✔️ Elevated food and water bowls
✔️ Non-slip mats
✔️ Daily stretches and brushing homework
✔️ A well-fitted harness
✔️ Eliminated repetitive ball throwing (a common but sneaky cause of back strain)

The result? Zambia is now happy, moving freely, and pain-free—and her owners are empowered with tools to keep her feeling this good every day 💪🐾

🙌 It’s amazing what small changes and consistent support can do. Welcome to the community, Zambia!
