Meet NOAH, KEVIN & CHARLIE (aka scallywags).

I have just finished a 13 day pet sit for these 3 little puuuurfect four legged friends who I have known for some time.

Their owners had planned a much anticipated romantic escape and booked my services well in advance.

Each day I came to their home having visitation rights for all three…lol.

Whilst N, K & C managed to have the run of the house the moment I walked out the door; they still managed to wrap me around each little paw in the many hours I spent with them.

Looking after pets in their own home is very reassuring for all involved and far less stressful for the pets and the owners.

On a daily basis, Noah, Kevin and Charlie were fed, had their medication administered, had loads of play time and I ensured the indoor plants were watered and the litter trays freshened up each day. Parcel deliveries to the home were also immediately brought inside which is also reassuring to not give the indication the home is unattended for long periods of time.

The day prior to the owners coming home, I gave the floors a vac and wash, light dust and kitchen area a wipe over.

This is a gorgeous home filled with so much love. I was thrilled to be able to ensure these 3 scallywags felt that energy was consistent in their owners absence. 💚💛🧡

Meet beautiful Teddy. We shared lots of cuddles hanging out together for the 7 days over the Christmas period as Teddys owners visited family.

They hired my services as their pet sitter. Each day I came to their home to feed Teddy, have play time and nap time (Teddy, not me),in his own environment, whilst also tending to their garden, checking mail and keeping a general eye on things while they were away. So much fun💙

BLENDING IN LIKE A LOCAL.

What I love about my housesit ventures, is the opportunity to really discover the community I'm living in for that short period of time.

It's the people, the places and the friendly chats with strangers I have along the way.

This morning Gillie and I found ourselves at the monthly Witta markets. The words wholesome, grassroots, pickles, jams and century old trees all come to mind.

Gillie as always was a head turner and the subject of lots of interest and adoring glances.

It is stunning every single day up here. It will be so hard to leave. 🌼

HELLO SUNDAY MORNING…..

The distant hills have come alive with the rumble, roar, buzz and burn of the Ducati, Harley, Triumph and Honda - just to name a few.

Faceless Bikers…. bearded, bald or grey putting their adored shiny machines through this weekend ritual. Each ride filled with the hope of quenching a yearning to get lost in kilometers of sunshine and unshackled freedom.

Wave after wave can be heard as corners are hugged, bends are rounded and throttles opened up. I can almost hear the anticipation building to that point where for a few brief moments, the rider claims his clear stretch of bitumen as he owns the road to somewhere until that next bend reveals its perils.

It’s the norm here.

I’m perched on a hillside where the world seems to be literally at my feet. It’s magic on this mountain.

This home is a landing place. It’s like a feathered down nest for couples, honeymooners and romantics to get lost in themselves far above their day to day reality. It’s so me, and for now, it’s all mine to embrace, enjoy and caretake with little Gillie to keep me amused and so entertained.

I have to admit, I'm sitting here feeling a little smug.

As those cluster of Sunday riders head to their pitstop destination to lay down helmets and fill sweaty bellies with big brekkies and mugs of hot brewed coffee, I sit here filling mine.

I'm gifted with the sweetest tomatoes I picked from the vine. I've whisked organic eggs bought at the local markets; toasted fresh sourdough bread infused with olives and fetta and poured orange juice squeezed and bottled to compliment the drizzled maple syrup on my oh so moreish crispy bacon.

I'm grey and I don’t own a fast flash noisy machine, but yes ok, maybe a sweaty belly from time to time, however; my travels do take me to places that afford me the freedom to claim the road and my moment in the sunshine until that next bend in my housesitting venture reveals its mystery and mystique.

Life is good. So is crispy bacon….chimes Gillie. 🐕

PUPPY PLAY DATE & RAINBOWS 🐕🐕🐕🐕

Yesterday, Gillie and I were invited to the gooooorgeous 'Middleton House' for an afternoon puppy play date with Sammy, Harry, Tully and Bella. Needless to say, I spent the whole afternoon picking my jaw up off the ground.

Wendy, the lovely owner, gave me a tour of her amazing home and stunning gardens which she has single-handedly enhanced to this stunning backdrop for many a wedding and Bocce Tea Party.

The afternoon was topped off with the most magnificent rainbow (as you do in gorgeous Maleny) which managed to dress this 'Gone with the Wind' inspired home in all the stunning elegance leaving you begging for more.

Oh, Lotto Gods....show me that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Pretty Please 🌈🌈🌈🌈

IT'S COOL and wet and outside it's dripping pure goodness from way above.
Everyone is happy......

The veggie patch; the roses; the spiders; the rain gauge..... and Gillie. Today consists of being snuggled up under her blankie at the foot of my bed.

I love days made up of all my favourite things. Except spiders.
Spiders are not up there amongst my favourite things.
