Donna's Story:
Dogs have been a part of my life since childhood. I'
ve formed special bonds with many of them over the years and love having them around. My current dogs are:
Fleur, 10 yrs, Papillon, re homed to us at 2 yrs
Pippa & Penny 7yrs, Koolie/LabX sisters have been with us from pups
Having stumbled into the sport of agility some years ago I set about learning how to best train my dogs in the sport and subsequently joined positive training and handling programs along with gaining knowledge in dog fitness and enrichment. In turn this has led to a growing interest in helping others learn to help their pet dogs with improved general behaviour at home and out in the community. I am a professional, experienced & certified dog trainer with Institute of Modern Dog trainers (IMDT)

Can you help too?
We are now beginning to receive wildlife from the Boddington fire zones. This little boy was found by caring fire crews, who took him to the environmental team at the Newmont Corporation Boddington mine for help, who then brought him to us.
He has burns on all of his teeny tiny feet and has a long recovery ahead. He is now safely with our specialised possum team, where he will receive gentle, round‑the‑clock care and support.
The Boddington fire has already burned through a whopping 4095 hectares, and sadly, we know more animals will need our help in the days to come. We are working closely with Newmont and local carers to support every animal that arrives.
We cannot continue this important and often heartbreaking work without the kindness of our community. If you are able, please consider donating towards the care of these vulnerable patients. Every contribution truly makes a difference.

Honey is Larisse and Lachy’s first dog so doing a quality foundations program is important to them.
As Honey is past PupSkills intake age they have been able join PupSkills ONLINE instead.
This means they receive all the quality learning and benefits of PupSkills without attending classes in person.
With the flexibility of our program we are able to offer a variety of learning options for families.
For Honey’s family, this means joining our online classes and as they live in Albany, they will also enjoy the benefits of having three private sessions included throughout their program.
Larisse, Lachy & Honey are setting up and preparing for their best lives together and will enjoy all of the additional PupSkills support as they navigate this life stage of adolescence.
We’re excited to have them as a PupSkills family and part of Every Day Dogs Community!

🎆 NEW YEAR’S EVE & FIREWORKS 🎆
✴️ Albany fireworks: 9pm & Midnight
Fireworks can be a very stressful event for many dogs and other animals too.
While some dogs may not be phased, for puppies, seniors, and anxious pets, even short displays may have a lasting, negative emotional impact.
Fireworks noise can travel a long way or be more intense depending on weather conditions such as clear skies, cloud cover, and wind direction. Even if the display is brief, the stress response can continue.
✴️ If you live in the vicinity, your preparation matters!
HERE'S YOUR CHECKLIST TO HELP YOUR DOG FEEL SAFE TONIGHT:
• Never leave puppies or anxious pets alone or outdoors
• Ensure all pets are in a secure area
• Allow access to safe, quiet spaces
• Offer gentle reassurance if they seek closeness
• Use proven calming supplements or prescribed medication as directed
• Turn on background noise early (TV, music, dishwasher)
• Close doors, windows & blinds
• Enjoy an early evening walk with plenty of sniffing time
• Provide chewing activities & food enrichment before fireworks start (at midnight? hopefully sound asleep)
• If in close proximity to the foreshore, consider a calm car ride or two out of town (it's been done before!)
✴️ Fireworks may be fun for many people, but they can be frightening for our pets and other animals. A little thoughtful planning can make a huge difference to their wellbeing.
✴️ Got some fireworks experiences, questions or support tips to share? We'd love to hear!

Positive reinforcement training, for better dogs, Everyday.
Donna's Story:
With a passion for dogs that started as a young child, over the years I have considered many dogs my best friend. It's been a privilege for me to learn how to become their best friend through learning up to date modern scientific methods. I have learned and continue to learn from wonderful, inspiring local and international trainers.
Whether helping someone connect with their dog in a new way through knowledge & skills training, helping a family prepare for the soon to arrive puppy or gain a better understanding of their puppies developmental, welfare & socialisation needs, it's all a pleasure and a responsibility that I wholeheartedly enjoy.
Training is free from force, fear or coercion. Training to build engagement, trust & team work, games & play with the love of learning together. Skills to develop confidence for both dog and handler. Building for a better life for you and your dog, Every Day.
