❤️HAZEL❤️ - Assisted Rehoming

PLEASE NOTE: HAZEL IS NOT IN OUR CARE
Hazel is an assisted rehoming case

Hazel is a small Cavoodle with a gentle, sensitive nature and a strong need for safety and connection. Once she feels comfortable, she is incredibly affectionate and loves being close to her person, happily curling up beside you for quiet company.

Hazel has been with her current family since she was 8 weeks old. From a young age, she showed signs of anxiety. Unfortunately, the home environment has become quite busy and unpredictable, and Hazel is not coping or thriving in that setting.

She is looking for a calmer, more predictable home where she can feel safe and supported.

Hazel can be wary of new people. When she feels unsure, she may bark and can occasionally urinate. This is not disobedience, but a stress response when she feels overwhelmed. With the right support, she is capable of building confidence and learning new skills, and she has already shown that she engages well in training.

She is best suited to an adult home, or one with older (15+), dog-savvy children who understand how to respect her space and boundaries. Hazel needs people who will take the time to understand her communication, particularly around handling and touch. Grooming and physical handling can be stressful for her, so this will need to be approached gradually and with patience.

Hazel prefers a quieter lifestyle and is much more comfortable indoors than out in busy environments. She will thrive with someone who enjoys a slower pace of life and is happy to continue building her confidence through structured, positive training.

Hazel is a clever little dog who wants to get it right. With consistency, patience, and the right support, she has so much potential to become a more confident and settled companion.

❤️Non-Negotiables for Hazel’s Home

Hazel is looking for a home that can commit to her ongoing care and development. This includes:

❤️Ongoing Medical Management

Hazel has hyperthyroidism, which requires continued veterinary care and medication. Her future home must be comfortable and consistent with managing this over the long term.

❤️Commitment to Ongoing Training and Support

Hazel will need continued guidance to build confidence, particularly around people, handling, and everyday environments. Her new owner should be willing to continue training and implement structured support to help her succeed.

If you are interested in adopting Hazel, please get in touch with Tiffany via email at [email protected]

*Tiffany is not Hazel’s current owner; she is also providing assistance.

Today I was able to accompany Mr Chester to his vaccination! 12 months ago Chester was explosive reactive to all other dogs, and was very uncomfortable around strangers. He’d have to be in a seperate waiting area away from others when visiting the clinic.

The last few months he’s gotten better and better, last week when he visited for his a**l glands to be assessed, he confidently toddled off with a nurse! No stranger danger!

Today he handled the physical exam and vaccination with some nervous energy, but he trusted his mum and I that we were there as his support. He even left the consult room wagging his tail, and the vet remarked that he didn’t think he’d ever seen Chester’s tail so high before! An incredible recovery, and a huge show of how his resilience is growing.

We have worked so hard to get him comfortable and confident, he was able to redirect away from other dogs in a very busy waiting room. Our goal is to get him to the point of a full settle on arrival, and more cooperative care!

I know that it’s just a matter of time before he is comfortable during his next visit, and even relaxed by his next vaccination! We got this little buddy!
