Pets and their People is a team founded by Alan Dalgarno, Veronica Wah Day and Peter Hangartner. Since 1998 we have been caring for your pets at the Unley, Fulham Gardens and Black Forest Veterinary Surgeries. In 2013 Pets and their People was created and every member of our teams recognizes that you and your pet share a unique bond. As pet owners the bond we share with our pets greatly enhance ou

r lives, bringing joy and companionship, creating strong social and community networks, enhancing physical and mental health and well being. Facilities and equipment are merely part of the foundation of what we do…Our vets and nurses thrive on continuing education, and as a team we continually analyse what and why we do things. We have a diverse team of professionals that share a common set of values especially regarding the important role pets play in our lives. We strive to be great communicators and offer the highest standard of veterinary care. We see our role as providing opportunities to maintain and optimise your relationship with your pet. Together with our great team, our mission is to continue to care for you and your pets to enhance your lives together. We have three Adelaide vet surgery locations: Fulham Gardens Vet Surgery in Adelaide's western suburbs, Unley Vet and Black Forest Vet Surgeries in Adelaide's inner eastern and southern suburbs.

Meet Dash, the sweet old boy whose dedicated owners book him in for regular dental cleans! 🪥

Dash’s owners are diligent about his dental health and we are thrilled to see the positive impact it’s had on his overall wellbeing. We have been monitoring some problem teeth at each dental clean, using dental X-rays and dental probing to ensure they remain stable. 🦷

❤️‍🩹April is National Pet First Aid Awareness Month ❤️‍🩹

This post will cover how to provide first aid for bleeding wounds! Injuries like this can occur from dog bites, cuts and other accidents.

🐾 If actively bleeding apply pressure to the area with a clean gauze, towel or t-shirt.
🐾 Call a vet urgently. Our number is 8351 6066
🐾If possible, wrap the wound with clean bandage material until you can get to a vet.
🐾Get your pet to your closest vet to be properly assessed. They may need pain relief, antibiotics and the area sutured closed.

We hope a situation like this never occurs for your furry friend but if it does please feel free to call us on 8351 6066.

Meet Teddy! 🧸

This adorable puppy visited us recently for a very important procedure. He received lots of love and attention throughout the day. 💗

During Teddy’s puppy checks, our vets noticed that his canine teeth were base-narrow, causing deep indentations in the palate. Poor Teddy was in a lot of discomfort every time he closed his mouth.

During his procedure we removed the troublesome tooth to ease his discomfort and hopefully encourage his adult tooth to erupt normally 🤞🏼

Little Lola was such a brave girl for her desexing procedure. We all lovveeeedddd her. 💞

Whilst in recovery, we broke out the lick mat, covered in peanut butter. This clever tool is designed to provide pets with a calming and distracting activity whilst helping to reduce anxiety and stress.

It works well for both dogs and cats 🐈‍⬛
