Reunited and it feels good ❤️

Thanks to his registration and microchip, Bossy didn’t stay lost for long. Our officer was able to quickly contact his owner and get him safely home.
Sometimes pets slip out, but a microchip and up-to-date registration help our Community Safety Officers reunite furry friends with their families faster.

Congratulations to our winners! 🎉🐶

We recently put the call out for local doggy celebrities to help us promote the transition to compostable dog waste bags, and were thrilled with the response from our community!

After reviewing almost 100 applications of adorable doggos, we've selected different dogs from different locations around Charles Sturt and the winners have been notified!

We're excited to introduce you to our new doggy stars! Get ready to meet: Albert, Calvin, Cloud, Ernie, Frank, Oliver, Pippa, Roopert, Rose, Snickers, Thor & Luna, and Ziggy! 🥳

We'll begin the transition to compostable as we use our existing biodegradable stock. Stay tuned for the debut of our new canine stars and the eco-friendly bags, coming this July!

Remember - go green for green! Compostable bags should be placed in green bins for best effect!

This is Phase 1 of improving our environmental pawprint. We are also exploring the use of public green bins in high-traffic areas around the City, though this comes with other challenges to resourcing and dealing with cross-contamination.

To keep your furry friends safe and comfortable, please bring them indoors. Ensure they have proper identification and that your information is current on Dogs and Cats Online. Please check that your fencing is secure.

Tomorrow will be an excellent opportunity for indoor enrichment activities! Stay safe and take care! 🐾

Throw back to this time last week when we got to play with these perfect puppies! 😍🐶

Last Saturday, our trainers had an amazing time meeting Trixie for the first time and enjoyed teaching her how to build confidence in new and unfamiliar situations!

In our second class, we were reunited with Fergus and Winnie again! It was lovely to work with them and their parents on socialisation, and to practice some settle and recalls - basic manners all puppies need!

"I wish we had known sooner"

Did you know even young dogs can suffer from arthritis? Chris and Petra’s Rottweiler, Gwen, was diagnosed at just 2 years old. They caught it early. But what if they hadn’t?

Arthritis is one of the leading causes of chronic pain in dogs, and there’s no cure. Join our free seminar with Horizon Palliative Vets to learn how to spot the early signs and protect your pup’s future.

Thursday 29 May at the Civic Centre, Woodville.

Meet Rocky! 😍

We met Rocky last week as we were setting up for our Community Dog Walk - and boy did he steal the show (and our hearts)!

Rocky and his mum, Malita, have been enjoying walks at Point Malcolm Reserve for over 15 years together. Remember, dogs' exercise needs change as they age. We LOVE that Malita has found the perfect solution to ensure Rocky still gets his outings every day without negatively impacting his joints and health.

Dog carts and prams are perfect for senior dogs, unvaccinated puppies (as long as they don't get out), injured dogs, or those recovering from surgery! They can help ensure they get the exercise and enrichment they need safely.

More information on appropriate exercise and enrichment for dogs in the comments 👇

Our Community Dog Walk Was a Howlin’ Success 🐶☀️

Thank you to everyone who joined us this weekend for a pawsitively fantastic morning in the sun.

We met a lovely mix of large and small, confident and shy dogs on Saturday. From Martha (who loved the hydration station) to Noodle the 'oodle, and the sweetest little pug pup whose eyes were much bigger than their belly!

A big round of a-paws to our amazing stallholders on the day:
🐾 Kip
🐾 Adelaide Veterinary Walk In Clinic
🐾 Ruffin Dog Designs
🐾Charles Sturt Libraries
🐾Living The Bean

Pet parents loved exploring new locations, or trialing a group dog walk, with our supportive trainers and officers onsite.

We'd love to organise other community dog walks in the future - follow us to keep up to date with future pet events in our City.
