Half way in the season update 🙌

So far this season we've competed in NVSDC, SASDC race 2 and then just the past weekend SASDC trophy race which was also the ASSA Nationals!

We've mainly been running Ember in 1 Dog open class. This is a big ask for such a young novice dog who before NVSDC had only done small puppy runs last year.

To say she has blown us away is a understatement! She just keeps getting better and better! On Saturday saw her crack and average of 20.4km/ph over 3.3km! She absolutely smashed it, the track we done has lots of inclines and a steep hill at the end! While we may not be in any contention for placing with all the hounds running. We aim to beat ourselves and compare ourselves to fellow Siberians. Sunday we had a few little goals, unfortunately due to dog/musher errors I got sent flying over handle bars landing head first and on my back. I laid there for 30 seconds gathering thoughts and mental checking everything before getting up with help of a fellow musher. We still finished that heat and had an overall average sp*ed of 19.2km/ph.

I can't thank and of WinterAffair Siberian huskies enough for our chaos of a red! She was born to be something special! I believe a bit of Luna came back in her and I reckonise it on track due to having called her Luna a few times on trail 🫶

Race 4 in a few weeks time! For now we recover, rest and train!

Can't forget our littlest member of our team!! Paige had her P*e wees run! She used her own team of Millie and Solar who are officially retired to the p*e wee class. She had a blast riding her bike around kicking the football and of course racing her dogs! Thank you to Vicki for capturing the p*e wee photos!

Our weekend so far! Ember is completely smashing all expectations i had coming into this weekend and I couldnt be prouder! We set 2 goals coming into this weekend. Make it around the track and dont come dead last. We have moved up a place today! We have improved our time and average sp*ed!

Ember enjoying a snooze in the afternoon sun on Saturday just gone.

Some results from our last lot of shows we have done.

We travelled to Port Pirie Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday. We enter 2 shows each day.

Ember was awarded
4 x 6 point B***h Challenges
4x Intermediate of Breed
4x Runner up Best of Breed.

Was great to catch up with our friend and her beautiful girl Mia.

Then, on the weekend, just gone saw us enter both Ember and Atti in the Southern District kennel clubs shows. We entered all 3 shows on offer

Atti was awarded
3 x Dog Challenges
3x Open of Breed
3x Best of Breed

Ember was awarded
3x Intermediate of Breed

Ember not only won her class against another b***h on the Sunday, she then went on to get an 8 point b***h challenge. Then took out Runner up best of breed!

This takes us to half way to her title!!

We got some professional photos done. Which i can't wait to share when we get them back ^_^

Ember and I have ventured up north to Port Pirie for the Easter cluster. 2 shows today and 2 shows tomorrow ^_^ looks like we will have 4 seasons in 1 day today 😅😝

Long time between posts! We've had a very full Christmas new year! It doesn't look like we will be settling anytime soon! 😮‍💨

In bad owner fashion we missed millies birthday! She turned 13! Just a couple weeks ago!

But today our big bush pig Atti turns 7 years old! He is officially a senior 😭😭 he is in desperate need of a bath 😅 he has started getting grey hairs on muzzle 🥺 happy birthday to his remaining litter mates ❤️

As all out older doggies get older we are cherishing each day we are given with them.

Millie is now 13
Solar is 12 turning 13 this year
Atti now 7
Ember is now 17 months old.

Hoping to get out to some shows with Ember to try and gain some more points towards title. She will start her first race season this year ^_^ can't wait to see what her and I can do as a team.

We may not have gotten anywhere points wise. But every time Ember and I step in the ring, we figure something else out and make it click. Maybe one day soon she will start getting points on the board I mean she is on 18 😂 between now and race season we will be in the ring as much as we can. Embers debut season is next year and I can't wait to get her out in harness and see what her and I can achieve in the forest.
