🐾 A TOLERATED FOOD IS NOT ALWAYS AN APPROPRIATE FOOD 🐾

One of the biggest misconceptions I see is that if a food shows as "tolerated", it automatically means it should be fed.

Unfortunately, it isn't that simple.

A test result is just one piece of the puzzle.

A dog with pancreatitis may tolerate a food that is too high in fat.

A dog with bladder stones may tolerate a food that isn't appropriate for their condition.

A dog with chronic digestive issues may tolerate a food that doesn't support healing.

A dog with skin disease, yeast overgrowth, arthritis, obesity, kidney disease or other health concerns may require a very different approach.

This is why I don't just look at test results.

I look at the whole dog.

This is Marley 💖
My beautiful senior girl carries an old injury in one of her front legs and, as she's gotten older, arthritis has started to creep in.
There was a time when she was slowing down. Not wanting to walk as far. Taking a little longer to get moving. Just those subtle signs that tell you your dog isn't feeling their best.
A few months ago I started her on our Rosehips.
Nothing fancy.
Nothing dramatic.
