Let us walk you through the ETC ribbon system. 🔵🔴🟡
Small ribbons are awarded in all divisions and reflect the quality of your work. Blue means 90 to 100 points, red means 80 to 89, yellow means 70 to 79. They do not indicate a ranking or placement, just the standard of your work.
Medium ribbons go to the top placements in the Novice, Professional and Collective Artists divisions. First, second and third. Respected and earned, but they do not carry a European title.
Large ribbons are reserved for the Master Division only. A blue large ribbon means Best of Europe. European Champion. That title has a very specific meaning at the ETC and the ribbon system exists to protect it.
Ribbons in other colors are given for special awards and are independent of the official ETC rules.

At this year's Die Hohe Jagd & Fischerei, you could get a small taste of what's coming in February at the European Taxidermy Championships 2027. 🐻

At the booth, visitors could find out everything about the upcoming championship, learn how the judging and scoring system works, and get any questions answered directly. A great opportunity to make contacts with judges and fellow taxidermists.

Meet the judges. 👨‍⚖️ The people evaluating your work at the ETC are active taxidermists, world and European champions, museum specialists and seminar instructors. They have spent decades doing exactly what you do.

Every entry is assessed by two judges. Every division, from Novice to Master, is evaluated on the same criteria. Consistent and fair across the board.

We are happy to welcome Jack Fishwick (Head Judge), Kęstutis Bybartas, Marco Fischer, Krzysztof Gawlas, Markku Natri, Mike Orthober, Peter Sunesen, Robert Stein, Stephan Weigl and Walter In't Velt to the ETC 2027 judge panel!

Right now, roe deer fawns are being born across Europe. One of the most fleeting moments in wildlife, and for many taxidermists, the roe deer is more than just a category. It's a craft statement. A mother and fawn composition, only possible through natural mortality, is one of the rarest things you'll ever see on a show floor. When one shows up at the ETC, you stop. Every time. 🦌
